Cotham School agrees that ‘Justice4Cotham’ tweets lurid & abusive content but continues to let it use the school’s name 🤷♀️ Sound like good governance to you?
@BenBP7 @CothamSchool#CothamSchool senior liarship team were backed up as always by fake claims ⬇️ about acting for good of the City, when in fact it’s always & only #JustIs4Cotham.
They’ve abandoned the field for a bit purely to save face & now they don’t want clubs to use it either.
Same old tactics: @sandrafryer14 fed mapping errors to BCC Planning to get rid of curtilage status & get fence up w/ no planning. Now trying same tricks to keep fence up.
As a trustee of @theTCPA does she not like proper planning, or is this just how the system always works?
This is where public interest really lies.
This is how people really feel about the fence disrupting enjoyment of the Village Green.
Over a thousand people who know the fence is on the TVG and angry at the lies that pretend otherwise.
@BristolCouncil Listen.
@BristolFtw@WlStoke_Lodge @sandrafryer14 Is she really still there? She’s arguably the cause & perpetrator of this whole slow motion Cotham car crash - lies about the lease ⬇️, uncontrolled spending in pursuit of her ‘vision for Stoke Lodge’… all this & she’s not finished yet?

@Sti11W@WlStoke_Lodge I remember Penny Beeston being very shouty with BCC about its legal costs. Seems her concern for Cotham kids didn’t extend to asking how much it was spaffing on lawyers instead of text books & whether it could afford to keep shelling out so she could play legal eagles with Nate?
We’ve been getting questions about the application for public rights of way across Stoke Lodge, following the decision to register the land as a TVG. The footpaths are still on track to be considered in the next few months - more details on the blog ⬇️

‘“everyone must have thought” that use was no longer ‘as of right’
‘Obviously we insisted that he should not have reached a view without seeing the evidence’
‘he did not think we were contesting it’
‘we had contested the idea throughout’

Video summarising the incredible mess that is the Inspector’s report on the Stoke Lodge TVG applications - ignoring key evidence, imagining other bits to suit himself and leaving all the key issues to the committee!

‘PE lessons at Stoke Lodge are not under threat from a TVG, but this important open space is certainly under threat of future development by Cotham School.’
The decision on whether to register Stoke Lodge as a TVG will be taken next week ⬇️
ICO notes ‘the broader issues surrounding rights of access to Stoke Lodge have been controversial. It is clearly a matter that is important in the local area… previous decision-making by both BCC & Cotham School has been found, by independent organisations, to be flawed.’
The last few blog posts unpick Bristol City Council’s decision processes that allowed a perimeter fence to go up at Stoke Lodge without planning permission. Today: how the BCC ‘official’ account departs from the facts, and how @LGOmbudsman was misled:

Absolute failure to verify information fed to them by an interested party. If it’s a systemic issue then it’s part of #ThisIsHowItsDone - how communities lose their green space. Needs scrutiny.
“Likely to throw her under the bus” - A&S Police & Crime Commissioner to Chief Constable describing the implications of his public response to Cotham School’s bizarre claim that it carried out covert surveillance at Stoke Lodge on police advice.
@bristollive@bristol247
@Fi_catri @CothamSchool “…guilty of unlawfully installing covert CCTV cameras at the edge of their playing fields… It is absolutely unacceptable that a school should be filming people without their knowledge.”
@WlStoke_Lodge They won’t unlock before 8am now or in the summer even tho it’s a bright sunny day & cool enough for early morning joggers. Definitely daylight hours but apparently we’re still not ‘allowed’ in before 8. Luckily gates are often propped open anyhow!
So far this week we’ve factcchecked @CothamSchool’s risk assessment & its claims about needing 23 acres; we’ve looked at what the PE staff think about Stoke Lodge; & today we look at Cotham’s development ambitions - floodlights, parking, astro pitches… ⬇️

Fact-check Friday - our final post this week looks at the lie about the lease: @CothamSchool’s claim that ‘subject to community use’ refers to hiring Stoke Lodge out to clubs. It’s not true and they know it (and basic grammar tells you so!). Here’s why:
