Matthew Reid

I observe what's right/wrong with education, NY Sports and politics and tell you about it. Liberal and proud, so right wingers and gun lovers be warned

[Matthew Reid @j54ever23]

@YESNetwork I lived across the street from the old stadium and always watched the fireworks at night of July 4th games. Definitely in the 80’s.
They would alternate between the Mets and Yankees every other year I think

@Lupita_Nyongo our school read your book, Sulwe, as part of our monthly book program and loved it! Can we interview you via zoom to discuss? We are a K-5 school in North Philly! We met with so many talented authors already the past 2 years, we would be honored to connect with you

[Matthew Reid @j54ever23]

@MatthewACherry are you able to connect with our school this Friday to talk with our students about your book Hair Love? We would love to connect with you at 9am if you would be willing to meet with us over Zoom. I can send you the information. Thank you and please let us know.

[Matthew Reid @j54ever23]

@MatthewACherry How does September 28 at 10am or September 29 at 9 work?

[Matthew Reid @j54ever23]

@MatthewACherry my school is reading your book Hair Love and we would love the opportunity to interview you! Can we email you to discuss? It would be over Zoom and our students would really appreciate your help!

[Matthew Reid @j54ever23]

@MatthewACherry That would be great!! We are hoping to have the interview on September 29, anytime between 9-10:30. It should only take 30-40 minutes. Is it possible to talk over email? [email protected]

[Matthew Reid @j54ever23]

@chrislhayes @alexnpress Yes because we all wait online

[Matthew Reid @j54ever23]

@IbtihajMuhammad We would love to be able to connect with you later this month to learn about your experiences and to talk with you about your book. Can we find a time to connect?

[Matthew Reid @j54ever23]

@IbtihajMuhammad In addition to reading the books, we also interview the author. Last month we had the honor of interviewing @nhannahjones for her book Born on the Water.

[Matthew Reid @j54ever23]

@IbtihajMuhammad our school is reading your book this month as part of our One Book, One Howe series. Each month our K-5 students read a book either by an author of color or a historically marginalized group to make sure all voices are included in the conversation.

Is that @tedcruz at the yankee game? #Yankees #ALCS2022

[Matthew Reid @j54ever23]

@derekjeter My first year teaching in Bklyn (‘02), I told my students that had I not torn my ACL, I would be playing SS for the Yankees instead of @derekjeter . They didn’t really buy it. Hey a kid can dream, right? Congrats on a successful career, looking forward to watching #TheCaptain
