@PitchingNinja If I were a young, aspiring pitcher I would put this on repeat until I understood why one of the highest paid hitters of all times was so mind-screwed by the time Burns threw his slider.
Took my son to an early ID camp there the year the year Weston had his head injury. Coach Mazey proudly told all the parents there that his daughter was selling lemonade near the concessions area. Coach Mazey created a legacy—one that he should be proud of, because I, for one, will never forget his impact on our family.
"It's your job to make sure that a speed bump doesn't become a roadblock.
Failure is essential.
If I can promise you one thing for certain, you will fail.
I failed publicly, miserably...but I would not have had the success without the failures."
@Mr_Rivas23@JaredB_BSBL Right?!?… but 12u is where kids learn to compete, imo. That is where they learn that every dropped ball or misplay can cost your team. A little accountability isn’t the end of the world for kids. It’s really not that harsh.
Not every kid is going to be able to play at the college level, that's the truth of the matter.
There are two types in this process:
The kids who are so determined that nothing will get in their way.
and
The kids/parents where everything becomes an obstacle or excuse.
