Great conversation with @OSGChrisStott at @BICSI Beyond 2026 in beautiful Las Vegas, Nevada, and the chance to spend time backstage with Astronaut Michael Massimino (@Astro_Mike). It's feels trite to write this - but it is such a humbling experience to interact and learn from with such talented people who have lived such extraordinary lives.

It was awesome to speak in front of such a talented and technically savvy group - but if you weren't able to listen, my main takeaway: Orbital data centers won’t be built by the space industry alone. We need talent from both space and terrestrial infrastructure, and we should make skill transfer between those worlds easier—not intimidating.

There are far more analogues between data centers and spacecraft than most people realize. I’m excited to lead Lonestar Space's effort to define the standards that bring the broader ICT community into this next chapter. And yes, I did use an AI tool to deblur and clarify a poorly lit photo from backstage - how cool will it be when we can do that work FROM SPAAAAACE!

Very cool to see how AI leaders are viewing Lonestar's experiences and ambitions in space. Go read some articles from 2022 and 2023 about orbital data centers and they're all met with skepticism. Now that skepticism has turned into imagination - and that, my friends, is what makes humanity special!
