Pilots, flight attendants, truckers, railroaders, and first responders work overtime too.
But many are excluded from the new overtime tax deduction because of outdated federal definitions.
Congress should fix this. Pass S. 4310

@RepHaleyStevens it was an honor to meet with you today! Thank you for your strong support of aviation safety, and for working to ensure aviation remains at the unprecedented level of safety we have achieved for more than a decade. #SafetyStartsWith2#ALPA2024Summit
@RepDebDingell thank you for your unwavering support of aviation safety! @ALPAPilots are so grateful for your support of the FAA reauthorization and continued engagement to protect our passengers and crews. #SafetyStartsWith2#ALPA2024Summit
@RepSlotkin, thank you for being a champion for aviation safety! @ALPAPilots are sincerely grateful for your support of the FAA reauthorization and continued vigilance in addressing future threats to aviation safety and security. #SafetyStartsWith2#ALPA2024Summit
“The most effective safety feature on any aircraft is the presence of two highly qualified & well-rested pilots on the flight deck…decreasing the flight deck crew on board is driven by the desire to cut costs at the expense of safety,” @ALPAPresident Capt. Jason Ambrosi said in a @WashingtonPost article on #ArtificialIntelligence https://t.co/yYV5tWdvs4
Thank you to the senators on both sides of the aisle opposed to reducing flight hour qualifications. Ten years ago, congress enacted flight hour requirements that have resulted in the safest decade in history for airline passengers. Those standards should remain. @ALPAPilots
Thank you Acting FAA Administrator @PollyTrott for moving to implement this life-saving measure after years of needless delay. Now we must redouble our efforts to pass the Sarancini Enhanced Aviation Safety Act and work to install primary barriers on cargo aircraft.
.@SenateCommerce as a commercial airline pilot, I urge you to oppose S. 893 or any other legislative attempt to raise the mandatory retirement age for professional U.S. airline pilots above the age of 65. Increasing the retirement age will not increase the supply of #pilots.
@AeroCrewNews Delta, American, United do not have any ‘domestic only’ fleets. Frequently trips can be interspersed with Canadian, Mexican, Caribbean destinations. Changing the rule would bring chaos to the status quo. Trips would have to be build for this age group only. Ridiculous.
Today we sent a letter to the Senate urging opposition to the Thune amendment which is a poison pill amendment that undermines the current aviation safety regime that has resulted in the safest period in air travel in history. Read the full letter here: https://t.co/LltCsbT5ZT
Today we sent @TransportGOP & @TransportDems a letter opposing its Securing Growth and Robust Leadership in American Aviation Act:
"ALPA prides itself in working in a bipartisan matter to advance aviation safety and the rights of workers. However, the decision to move forward with changing the statutory pilot retirement age is an anti-union poison pill. The rash decision to move an amendment on changing the statutory pilot retirement age, without consulting agencies responsible for safety, or studying potential impacts of such a change as has been done elsewhere is a politically driven choice that betrays a fundamental understanding of airline industry operations, the pilot profession, and safety."
