I’m honored to have completed the Climate & Carbon Data Intelligence Training, delivered in collaboration with Global Gateway, @_AfricanUnion , @ESTDEVestonia , GIZ and Verst Carbon.

This training has strengthened my understanding of MRV systems, climate data infrastructure, policy reporting, and carbon market implementation. More importantly, I’ve gained insight into how to connect these elements to ensure climate data is structured, credible, and used to drive meaningful impact.

Closing the #GlobalAdaptationGap requires more than ambitious plans, it requires the resources and systems to implement them.

The recent #NAP Assessment adopted at
COP30 @UNFCCC shows encouraging progress, with many developing countries advancing their National Adaptation Plans. However, significant barriers remain, especially limited climate finance, gaps in climate information, and capacity constraints.

Strengthening adaptation planning and ensuring accessible, predictable support will be critical if countries are to translate commitments into real resilience for communities, ecosystems, and economies.

The conclusion of the National Adaptation Plan (NAP) Assessment at #COP30 is an important reminder that while many countries are strengthening their adaptation planning, implementation still faces major barriers. The persistent gaps in finance, climate data, and technical capacity highlight why stronger international support is essential for building long term resilience, particularly for developing countries.

🚨UPDATE: I have been seeing various video clips of how rain destroyed people's businesses in Kampala

It's the second time in less than 4 months that this tragedy happened due to poor drainage system.

These helpless businessmen and women face various challenges including over taxation, the cost of rent is so high and on addition to that now floods are destroying their businesses

Many of them get loans to start up these businesses unfortunately the authorities seems to be isolated from what's happening since they are the owners of the buildings

In countries with rule of law Hamiss Kiggundu would have been in prison the first time this incident happened

These people are paying high taxes but the beneficiaries seems to benefit from there tears.
