@ManicSara @WhistleblowingT If you are directly employed by a school or LA, you can take strike action and apply for the fund. If through an agency, you cannot formally take strike action as the agency do not count as an 'employer' with NEU agreement. Government rules, not union ones.

@campbellmcgreg4 @Team_English1 I tend to do a bit of a hybrid. Read Act 1 cold together, discuss bits and established tension/character etc. Then watch an entire production (staged if possible). Then read acts 2-5, discussing as we go. Production helps with tracking plot - "remember when he sees the ghost..."

@nsmitchell @a101325 @TabitaSurge It would be a breach of contract and therefore reflected in any reference the headteacher provides. And any school would be *very* skeptical of a break like that.

One could argue that in the current recruitment landscape it's worth a punt, but still very high risk.

@a101325 @nsmitchell @TabitaSurge Way more than that. A teacher who hands in notice on 1st June, for example, will not be able to start a new job until 1st Jan the following year. 7 month notice!

Of course, it can be shorter. I think the shortest it can technically be is 7ish weeks (notice Feb, leave Apr)

@TeachEnglishLit @Team_English1 @AVisserFuray @LauraCurranBun @ThePiXLNetwork 2 copies of the book. Parent and student copy. Read a chapter independently each night, discuss over breakfast/school run etc.

We trialled with a targeted group a few years ago. Was great for motivation. E.g. parent had read ahead: "You won't BELIEVE the drama in ch7!" Etc.
