Micro-urbanism
The tiny streets, blocks & houses of ‘Paddinghurst’ in inner city Sydney, breaking all those rules…
- big trees in little streets
- tiny lots (under 100m2)
- overhanging balconies
- guérilla gardening
- bins, pots, bikes all out
Oh… & no cars

@aaronsmith Brisbane Airtrain is expensive especially with a few people, infrequent schedule that stops at 8pm - I used to commute to Sydney each week long time ago and only used it a few times compared to the frequency of Sydney airport train
This is a🧵for those with a romantic notion that switching on zoning for 3 storey walk-ups like those we had in the 70s (pictured below) is going to solve the #missingmiddle
@UnwalkableBris1 There is a point that topography and lack of shade can alter pedestrian catchments to walk to shops or transit hubs eg hilly Taringa vs flat Surfers Paradise
@PhilipThalis I remember when my mother rented an apartment there - the panelling, the basement with the barber shop and floor lobbies with security guards seated outside some apartments
@tackleberry_82 @KosSamaras Negative gearing can apply to any type of investment, not just housing.
Individuals who are negatively geared can deduct their loss against other income, such as salary and wages. https://t.co/FVL0wlNqON
@StevenJMiles@AliKingLabor It’s a long walk over the Passage esp for events at Sandstone Pt - how about some rest / viewing stops at regular spacing and shade for pedestrians
