@ChiefsWashed Completely agree. Especially a team like buffalo or Baltimore that has a running qb to get some of those effects anyway. Where I always go back to is all of the nfl is explosive plays, so per play inefficiency could lead to more of those by running the ball, but I doubt it
@OTRHockey I think my issue is this becomes a slippery slope with Gauthier and Sennecke. They have other players to sign with that cap space. I feel like 4 firsts are being discounted here. The leafs got the first pick and made the playoffs the entire last decade, anything can happen there
@OTRHockey Yeah that makes sense. To be clear, it is far more preferable to have him on an 8x$11 like they should have over 4 firsts. I guess I’m just not sure how you win a cup with him making $18 mil.
@tejfbanalytics Fully agree with your take, but I think they will continue to use him as a WR rather than admit they were wrong, even if it’s the wrong decision
@KevinCole___ So you liked the Simpson pick? I think it’s okay even though I think it is the worst 1st rd QB pick possible (Team in win-now mode, Simpson is not a great prospect, Could’ve traded down), but he’s still a QB so good value
@SethWalder Isn’t this just because they expect an overpay to move up in the top 5 based on historical precedent? I assume a team could easily trade from 3 to 12 for ex and it make sense, but they expect more based on past trades
@SethWalder I wonder if it’s slightly overstating premium pos value. CLE (an analytical organization), took non-premiums in the 2nd. I didn’t like the judkins pick, but I feel like Schwesinger could be justified bc in this chart, Off ball LBs went far sooner (In 2019, 2 went top 10!)
@Clevta@tejfbanalytics Tate is a far better WR prospect than any OT outside of Mauigoa (who will be gone). This chart was made before the WR market exploded. Idk why you think it’s so cut and dry
@AllbrightNFL@ChasingSnyder I have followed you for almost a decade, and you seem to be an overall good guy. We all have tough moments, I hope you know a lot of people understand that.
@NFLPinnacleBeat I think my other issue is how much these guys get in extensions. Hamilton is a negative surplus value player, at premiums they are at least average. I can get behind what the Browns did in early 2nd with Schwesinger bc you’re getting a very good deal for 4 years but that’s it
@NFLPinnacleBeat Hamilton is closer but both of those are stretching it. If I knew for a fact Hamilton would be who he is I may be able to get behind it, but if you’re implying Downs should go top 5 I don’t agree
@SamHoppen I’ve been looking for something like this, this is great. My only criticism is I think the consensus big board takes positional value in account to some extent, since it’s based primarily on mock drafts. Maybe assuming there is ~25% positional value already priced in my help.
