@anothercohen Very disciplined of them to keep guilt-free to 12k. 4 peoples birthdays, Christmas presents etc when grossing 1m is not typical from my experience.
The patient was so frustrated that she decided to just leave, ultimately giving Humana what they wanted all along. Think twice before you sign up for one of their plans, or any Medicare Advantage care plan.
For the reason that /hip fractures don't require inpatient rehab. I quickly educated him on the 13 medicare approved diagnosis for inpatient rehab, and he completely stalled. After making clear that he hadnt reviewed the PT notes, he tried to decline because/
Would greatly benefit for the extra mulimodal therapy, which would allow her to travel sooner and more safely. He stuck to that point, despite my opposition, and declined it./
Appropriate diagnosis. Humana waited 3 business days and then denied with an opportunity for peer-to-peer at 430 on a Friday, and then closed for the weekend. On Monday they called me back(6 days post-op) and their physician at first denied/
I had a patient with @Humana insurance admitted with a hip fracture. She was on vacation in Myrtle Beach, and tragically fell in the airport on her way back to a midwest state. Hip was repaired within 8 hours, next day we submitted for auth for inpatient rehab as it's an/
@l_leahc I agree with the sentiment, but this just isn't true, at least for doctors. My class is at least 80% currently practicing 8 years out of graduation, and the only ones I know of who aren't are married to other doctors who are.
@realdocspeaks If a medical director for a hospital reported behavior like this, they could make millions as a whistle-blower. But insurance companies don't have to worry about that. One day we will have universal healthcare, United Health for all.
@JeffreyLDavis44@FTC Would an ortho at a for profit who helped make the "orthopedic trauma admission policy" be subject to this policy maker loophole?(for lack of better term). Physicians help make almost all of the policies at my hospital
@mert@badcryptobitch They absolutely have a specialist for this. If you feel like it's stuck in your throat see an otolaryngologist(ENT), if it's getting stuck lower down(esophagus) see a gastroenterologist.
@WCInvestor For us, we're in a good school district, but a better private school option costs 6k per year. That ends for high school though, where we will probably do public. We have to accept some religious aspects that we don't necessarily agree with, but we strongly feel it's worth it.
@lxeagle17 As a physician, it's very tough to say what I would do if I had no student loans. Would I still be hustling, but instead to make more money for myself? Or would I be working less and doing more for the community in my spare time? It's hard to say, but can't see it being bad.
@ted_ds Oh yeah. It gets a lot of hate, but it's putting out good products, and it's by far the leader in the US. Hard to see any other CEX surpassing it in the long run unless regulatory circumstances change.
