It’s funny isn’t it, how when you’re a woman and have a strong opinion, there are certain men in our car community who will try and knock you back with insults about your body/appearance.
I’ve been misquoted here, completely, but I will do a video on MOTs 🧵
@ChrisGoffey I believe this is because cars are more aerodynamic. I have a Smart ForFour which has quite a flat, stubby front and it's routinely covered in flies after a long journey. It's a shame as, not only are they an integral part of the food chain, they're a nightmare to clean off!
@sniffpetrol So, for basically the same price as a run-out model F-Type 75, you could have some rally history. For an £80,000 miniMetro that's actually not bad!
@QuentinWillson On a recent press trip to Rome, I found plenty of survivors, many still in daily use. What a fantastic piece of engineering - it still holds up nearly seven decades since its creation.
@jonbentley90@waleswestphoto When visiting Japan, I went to a used tech store called Hard Off. It had (and I'm not exhadurating) a whole aisle full of blue crates that were brimming with used film cameras, many for around ¥330 (about £1.50). I didn't buy any, but walked away with plenty of 80s video games.
@sniffpetrol@Carpervert You're too kind Mr Porter. By the way, while I've got your attention, I found some Ray Maddoc lore on the British Newspaper Archive. It turns out he had an 'occasional series' in the local paper, and it's all very Roy Lanchester-ish
@sniffpetrol I think I'd change the alloys too. But, once you've got those sorted, you'd have a very classy little sportscar to take on this - found in the wild during the very same trip.
@game_whisperer Here's my only finding from Sunday Night at the London Palladium so far, which dates to 1961. Nice interaction between Bruce Forsyth and Sammy Davis Jr at the start.

@ChrisGoffey Would that have been from the Suez Crisis? My grandad is sadly a little too young to remember fuel rationing from then, but perhaps it helped to influence my family's decision to buy an Isetta in the late 50s.
