@MarpoleChildren Check this out.....still think city had no hand in this? Interesting a bunch of kids got on exclusive interviews with media while reps for 7000+ petitioners are ignored. Wonder who else pulled some strings...?
@jonesj I see....
ok, not lied but still extremely dishonest and mis-representing. I mean if City wrote something like that, most people would assume it's going to happen, even though the verb is in past tense. Especially for people hearing about TMH the first time.
@b5baxter@David_K_Shulman@Surfcrest @rhubarbish @EllenYeung City is saving level 3 high service needs means people with disabilities, and maybe some minor mental health issues, and they need certain services like meal prep, house cleaning, and such. That is quite different from what that city TMh doc says level 3 means.
@jonesj@EllenYeung I heard for Marpole TMH, Vancouver Coastal Health was told the Friday before info session (or around that date): please show up to info session because you are responsible for TMH residents health care.
VCH was like wait, what??
@b5baxter@David_K_Shulman@Surfcrest @rhubarbish @EllenYeung Well, #MayorGregor & City staff seems to have no problem mixing and matching terms as they sees fit. Sometimes, a building is called social housing, sometimes it's call shelter, sometimes it's called temporary housing. What matters are who will live in that determines risk.
@jonesj So basically the city lied or at least mis-represented at Kalso & likely Marpole info sessions about having public display and open house. No wonder there is no date on those placards.
@RWong1975 No Point Grey, Shaunessey, West Dunbar, and other areas of Vancouver with $5M+ homes, $200K+ super cars, live in nanny, Hermes bags, and other accessories that cost more than an average Vancouverite's pre-tax salary?
@David_K_Shulman@EllenYeung@Surfcrest @rhubarbish Her full response was closed to "Stanley Park, Build in Stanley Park, give the most beautiful place in Vancouver to the homeless". Interpret that however you want, but I don't really see what's so offensive about it.
You probably missed this in English media, but here's a @singtaodaily report where Marpole TMH construction workers told Sing Tao's reporter to "F**k off" & "roll" even after reporter showed media ID so he can report on protest blockade: https://t.co/4tGFaS7ZTN #vanre#vanpoli
CCTV 4 report on Marpole TMH ~18:50
https://t.co/eVZRBxbzTK
@CCTV - 2 notes:
1 - # Mayor Gregor & Van City Council ignored 5000+ signature petition and refuse to meet with citizen reps.
2 - city own report says 20%+ residents will be high risk offenders, it is not rumors.
@melodyma So what's your solution then? Bring drug use out in the open? Legalize drug use? Obviously you don't believe in forced treatment so what's the solution for people who are on drugs, don't want to get treated, and can hold down a job?
@MarpoleKofiBoi@melodyma So basically you are saying it's good for children to grow up in a drug addiction environment? That seeing people using drugs, checking grounds for discard needles are all good? Children would be more likely to avoid drugs when they see people using it day in day out? Really?
Same thing in #Marpole. Transit is terrible here. To make things worse, @MayorGregor @VisionVancouver scrapped their idea of building a skytrain station by Cambie & 57th. I don't know how ppl in #TMHing will get around to get groceries, mall, hospitals & clinics. https://t.co/tqUBDG4cH0
