i believe in x-risk from ASI but i don't conceptualize ASI as being novel.
relative to the capacity of an individual human, we already have ASI, and we have been grappling with alignment problems for centuries and with very literal x-risk for at least 70 years
If this is an actual Hamas tunnel, the IDF continue to be the most idiotic organisation on this planet in regards to PR and media handling.
The constant easily debunkable, overhyped videos and images they release do nothing but errode their credibility.
This is actually a fair question.
The short version is: the USA wrote the rules of the international system after WWII in ways that benefit us, including the average American.
Consequently, defending the system is good for Joe Taxpayer.
The long answer is longer! 1/
@jtc_ai @nope_its_lily I can believe that Jessie, I think it was more the decision to include them explicitly in that list - maybe the reason was geography…
it's weird that all the anti-Israel stuff on my TL is either

2. MOSSAD DID 9/11 WITH NUKES AND WILL DO THE SAME IN GAZA (community note: image is photoshopped) — 500,000 likes
