@jfais20 reading abt the daraxonrasib & vopimetostat combo lately makes this pricing talk feel even more urgent. Bluebird comparison misses something tho, RAS mutations hit ~90% of pancreatic cancer patients not a rare-disease-sized group. $480K's still real for families either way
🚨 WHAT IF YOUR MIND IS PART OF SOMETHING MUCH BIGGER?
For centuries, humans have wondered where consciousness comes from. Is it simply the result of billions of neurons firing inside the brain—or could there be something deeper hiding beneath reality itself?
One idea that once sounded almost purely philosophical is now being seriously discussed again: panpsychism. It suggests that consciousness, in some extremely basic form, may be a fundamental feature of reality rather than something that suddenly appears when matter becomes sufficiently complex.
Modern science has shown that nature can use quantum effects in biological systems. Photosynthesis involves quantum processes, and physicists are investigating whether quantum mechanisms may also help explain how some animals sense Earth’s magnetic field.
This raises a fascinating question: could the brain also be using quantum physics in ways we do not yet understand?
Physicist Roger Penrose and anesthesiologist Stuart Hameroff proposed the controversial Orch OR theory, suggesting that quantum processes inside structures called microtubules may play a role in consciousness. The idea remains highly debated, and there is still no scientific consensus that quantum processes are responsible for consciousness.
But there is another fact that needs no controversial theory at all.
The atoms in your body were not created on Earth. Many of the elements that make up you were forged inside ancient stars and scattered through space long before our planet existed.
Think about that.
The universe produced stars. Stars produced the elements. Those elements became planets, life, brains—and eventually beings capable of looking back at the universe and asking where they came from.
Maybe consciousness is simply an extraordinary product of biology.
Or perhaps there is a deeper story still waiting to be uncovered.
We don’t know yet.
And that may be the most interesting part.
What if consciousness isn’t something completely separate from the universe? What if it is one of the universe’s deepest mysteries—something we are only beginning to understand?
The answer could change how we see not only the human mind, but reality itself.

@drmarkhyman This tracks with everything i’ve been seeing. Cutting the inflammatory junk and loading up on the good stuff made a bigger difference for me than any supplement ever did
This is heartbreaking :(( So many women are struggling in silence during pregnancy and postpartum because of the shame around mental health. We have to do better at supporting moms instead of judging them
Mental health issues – whether depression, anxiety or psychosis – affect as many as 1 in 5 women in the US during pregnancy and in the year after birth.
Some experts say a culture of shame has led to serious issues going undiscussed, undetected and untreated. https://t.co/a8m0WLmaHY
More Americans are having to move back in with their parents because of the cost of living crisis
A record 25.2 million adults under 35 are now living with their parents. This is more than any point on record, including Covid
One 34 year old says she was forced to move back in with her parents after a breakup, saying even working it’s impossible to afford bills alone
Only about 30% of Americans under 40 years old report being able to cover everyday expenses comfortably
Only about 20%of Americans aged 30 report being able to afford a home
adulthood is literally just about showing up even if you dont feel like it, even if its uncomfortable because you are left with no choice but to show up
I’LL SAY IT AGAIN:
People in the 1970s didn't need a budgeting app, a financial advisor, and three side hustles just to afford a basic two-bedroom apartment.
This isn't always a personal finance problem. It's a wages and affordability problem.
Ford has a security vulnerability that they are internally leaving unfixed so they can sell you the solution
Their vehicles are vulnerable to a relay attack, that lets someone with a signal booster trick your vehicle into thinking they have the key fob
Ford knows this works and your vehicle can be stolen, but instead of fixing the security issue they are charging customers $7.99 per month, that’s $96 per year to be protected from this hacking
The security package even comes with stolen vehicle assist…. So they know that your vehicle can be stolen by this and they’ll assist and get it back… for a price
There should be a lawsuit against Ford for this
