Went to 1st @SanJoseSharks preseason game. Good game, (definitely preseason form from both teams) but special thanks to Birre by Pour Decisions and Hapas beer garden for being open after the game.

I'm generally a fan of Caltrain, & ride several times a month. But lately the level of service has gone way down. Trains are often dirty, restrooms have been filthy or out of service, and the number of times the trains have been late has been increasing. What the hell @caltrain ?

@Chamberlain Your quality control is abysmal! The garage door opener I purchased was missing parts, and the TWO(!) exchange/replacements were also missing parts! At this point I have very little faith that when (or IF) I can get it installed it will actually work.

Stopped by the new location of the Red Tail beer and wine bar in the theater district (on Market St). Small, but pretty nice, and good beer selection.

Maybe it's just me and my aging back, but the seats on the new electric @Caltrain feel less comfortable than the ones on the old trains.

Was at Pier 39 this afternoon. What's happening with this place? Seems I've been hearing about it for a long time, but the notice is only dated June of this year. Doesn't look anywhere near being ready to open.

Last time I was here the place still identified as Faultline Brewery. Now the signs, beers, and menu have all changed to Laughing Monk. Better beer selection, a few different menu items, no real change to the building layout.

A light above the exit stairs on the upper level changes from white to green when doors were open, indicating which side was open. Don't know how much they could actually do, but I wish they incorporated some sound deadening in the cars interior, a full car gets pretty noisy.

Rode one of the new @Caltrain electric trains. Thoughts: very quiet, both inside & out (but brakes were very squeaky as it pulled up) smooth ride, still wobbly on the upper level. Very firm seats. Power outlets under seats hard to see. Only one door opened for boarding... (more)

Display showing upcoming stops and connections at each stop is cool. Large clean windows. Starts and stops are smooth and quick. The (recorded) announcements are actually intelligible, if a bit quiet.

First time back at @Fibbar_MaGees since they remodeled. It's slightly different, but it's actually hard to point out any major changes. Still feels the same, which is a good thing.
