India is a unique case where the police that fought militancy and terrorism in the most challenging politico-legal landscape suffered at the hands of the state.
SSP Ajit Singh Sandhu, who cleared the Majha region of Punjab of militants, was accused of human rights violations.
He was charged in 16 cases, and the last one was related to the abduction and death of Jaswant Singh Khalra.
The Supreme Court took cognisance of the case, and a CBI enquiry was instituted.
SSP Sandhu was suspended and forced out of Tarn Taran and Amritsar. He was put behind bars in January 1997 and was assaulted by the Khalistani terrorist whom he had put behind bars. Post-assault, he was granted bail.
It is established that SSP Sandhu committed suicide by throwing himself in front of a train and died in 1997.
Militancy continued unabated till 1992 and started waning after that. Since then, civil rights activists started waging legal battles against the policemen. Thousands of policemen were in the line of fire and faced legal charges in different courts.
The Punjab Police demanded that the state and Central governments institute a law to protect policemen for any of their acts during 1984–1992, but this legal shield was not provided.
KPS Gill, the then DGP of Punjab, had said that if the state was not willing to protect its officers who fought against militancy, then who would fight this war in the future?
India is a unique case.

Dear SOME Punjabi Hindus,
Stop Hating Sikhism!
Expose the Akali-Congress Game!
Punjabi Hindus, some of you have started turning against Sikhism itself while opposing Khalistan. You are beginning to believe that every Sikh in Punjab is a follower of Bhindranwale and treats him as an icon. This thinking is not only wrong, it is extremely dangerous.
In June 1984, Bhindranwale was killed like a dog. Yet the same Bhindranwale’s portrait was installed inside the Golden Temple’s Central Sikh Museum only in November 2007, a full 23 years later. If Sikhs truly considered him their own, they would have put up his portrait immediately after 1984. Why the 23-year delay? Because this was a calculated propaganda move by the Akali Dal and SGPC.
SGPC receives massive funding from abroad, especially from Khalistani elements sitting in Canada, Britain, and America. Foreign powers and the ISI use these channels to destabilize India. The last SGPC elections were held in 2011.
For over 15 years since then, no elections have taken place. This is nothing but the murder of democracy.
When a BJP government comes to power, SGPC elections will be conducted. Transparency will return and the foreign funding racket will be shut down.
Sikhism is India’s own creation. The Guru Granth Sahib carries the wisdom of Sanatan Dharma, the worship of the formless and attributeless. Sikhs and Hindus were never separate. For centuries, in every Punjabi Hindu family, the eldest son was raised as a Sikh. One blood. One soil. One culture.
Punjabi Hindu brothers, do not hate the entire Sikh community because of Khalistanis and some SGPC leaders. Identify the real enemy. Protect Sikhism. Fight the Khalistanis. Do not confuse the two.
We are one. Saving this unity is our shared responsibility.

Highly derogatory code words for women by some Khalistani terrorists in a household. These were the men fighting in the name of Sikhism, Sikh gurus and are called 'Quamee Shaheeds'.

@puneet_sahani@diljitdosanjh@fatehbajwa2@Partap_Sbajwa Khalistani & their chums want exclusive right to accuse & kill anyone while denying same to victims. This is what they call it not free & same in Khalra Human rights doctrine which in his words " Killing of Hindus is not his concern". Lack of introspection is curse & not a gift.
@Harpreet_IAS_91@KesariDhwaj Why did the clash happen and who were the rulers of State who gave permission to Nirankaris? When group of armed people confront others with open threat & intention to harm, right to self-defense allows all the freedom to neutralize threat. Law is very clear on this worldwide.
@terrorwatch31@jindalitt@SandeepJakharpb@BJP4Punjab As they say Haaffre Khotteh Nu Diyo Loon Tey Oh Cheekhda Mere Kann Puttdey Ney. Lack of proper education and constructive mind remain in Chardi Kallan. One more decade of Econ-intellectual decline may seal the ill-fate permanently.
#WATCH | Indonesia: At a community event in Jakarta, President of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto says, "I don't want to be involved in domestic Indian politics. I'm a friend of all Indians but I want to admit one thing and my close associates and colleagues will testify that I am a great admirer of Narendra Modi ji. I'm not a professional politician. The proof that I'm not a professional politician is I took part in five general elections. I lost four times... Even before I became president, I studied the policies of prime minister (Narendra Modi) and because there are no copyright, I copied many of his policies. But, Prime Minister Modi graciously, allowed me to copy his policies. So I cannot be sued in any court..."
He also says, "Indonesians must learn from the experience of India. Our civilization, our culture are strongly influenced by Indian civilization. Our language is around 50% from Sanskrit. Many of our names are Sanskrit names. Therefore, there is this closeness and, we welcome more close cooperation..."
