This is good progress, but the geofences are really small. Probably around 20 sq mi.
With this size, the service is not really intended to be usable, they are probably just using the launch to get the logistics up and running.

Tesla Robotaxi Cleaning Robot update:

The Robotaxi Hub in Austin now has a cleaning robot built into the facility.

Permit TABS2025022006 explicitly lists a cleaning robot in the scope of work alongside Superchargers and an Equipment Inspection System.

Tesla teased the automated cleaning system last year. It is now permitted and built. The hub completed construction in March 2026.

✅ RDW hat am 05.05.2026 offiziell eine vorläufige EU-Typgenehmigung nach Art. 39 an die EU-Kommission und alle Mitgliedstaaten im TCMV gemeldet.
✅ Das Dossier wurde übermittelt und das Thema wurde am 30.06.2026 im TCMV inhaltlich erörtert.
✅ In einer kommenden TCMV-Sitzung ist eine Abstimmung über die Zulässigkeit von „FSD Supervised“ vorgesehen.
✅ Bei positivem Votum (qualifizierte Mehrheit) erlässt die EU-Kommission einen Durchführungsrechtsakt → dann kann die RDW eine EU-weit gültige Typgenehmigung erteilen.
✅ Das Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) befindet sich im aktiven Austausch mit RDW und Tesla und prüft derzeit alle Unterlagen für eine deutsche Position.
