The man who wants to rescue Sheffield Wednesday, American businessman David Storch, says he has been “informed that a 15-point penalty is set to be imposed at the start of next season” in League One. The outgoing owner Dejphon Chansiri should hang his head in shame at the damage he has inflicted on Sheffield Wednesday. He can’t have a conscience. Otherwise he’d accept a compromise on bid price. 

The EFL should have been tougher with Chansiri quicker. The FA should remember it is supposed to be custodians of the game and protect clubs. The importance of an Independent Football Regulator, much delayed by vested interests, is highlighted again by events at Wednesday. 

At the moment, the people being punished at Wednesday are fans, players, staff and the man who wants to save them. Shameful situation engulfing a historic club which could have been avoided with stronger leadership by the authorities. And Chansiri locating some principles. #SWFC

When owners fail their clubs, it’s their supporters who carry the weight. Wrexham fans know that pain all too well. Sheffield Wednesday fans are living through it today.

That’s why @WSTtweets and @Wrexham_AFC stood shoulder to shoulder with Wednesdayites by donating the £37,500 profits generated from the golden third shirt sales in four days for the SWFC Supporters’ Trust, with Wrexham AFC also matching that amount for Ysbyty Wrexham Maelor Hospital.

This is more than money. It’s a message. Supporters will always look out for one another, no matter the badge.

To everyone who bought a shirt, thank you for proving once again that football is nothing without fans.

@keiron1972 @robstaton @KieranMaguire Think this one has done the rounds before, (but don’t quote me on it) the ground is protected by a SWFC trust, so basically he can’t sell it to a housing developer for example. My take on it would be to say it’s sort of the same as a listed building type scenario 🤷‍♂️
