Countering Beijing’s disinformation is exhausting. It is frustrating. Some days it is disappointing. But I will answer every lie — because this fight was never about me.
If China wins the battle of narratives and teaches us to accept defeat, the loss will not be ours alone. It will belong to the Filipino children not yet born, who will grow up believing what is ours was never worth defending.
The truth shall set us all free. 🙏🏻🇵🇭
A library in Sydney has pulled “How to Sell a Genocide”, a book examining US media complicity in Israel’s destruction of Gaza, from its shelves following a complaint.
Author Adam Johnson rejected claims that describing Israel's actions in Gaza as genocide represents a fringe view, citing the killing of more than 20,000 Palestinian children since October 2023.
Nasser Mashni, president of the Australia Palestine Advocacy Network, condemned the removal, saying libraries have a duty to preserve and provide access to books that document and challenge the realities of Israel’s genocide on Palestinians, even when they are “confronting or uncomfortable”.
Pope Leo has joined those condemning escalating Israeli settler violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, as settlers and soldiers continue to attack civilians, besiege families and block aid.
I renew my appeal for an end to the ongoing violence against the Palestinian civilian population in the West Bank, and I urgently call on the international community to work toward advancing the two-state solution, for a just and lasting peace.
Healthcare Must Be Justice, Not Charity
President Marcos claimed in his SONA that patients no longer need guarantee letters for medical assistance. Yet, the reality tells a different story.
At the Philippine Heart Center, patients are still required to present a certificate of indigency, eligibility forms, and justification letters—layers of bureaucracy that delay care and diminish dignity.
Guarantee letters have become symbols of inequality. They force families to beg for endorsements instead of receiving help as a right.
If the President truly wants to understand the people’s suffering, he should walk the hospital corridors himself—not rely solely on filtered reports.
Universal Health Care means automatic coverage through PhilHealth, not political favors through guarantee letters.
Transparency. Accountability. Integrity. These are not optional—they are constitutional duties.
Healthcare must be justice, not charity.
Respectfully,
Dr. Tony Leachon

‘OO, RESIDENTE RIN AKO NG DAVAO CITY, AT OO, MAY KARAPATAN AKONG MAGTANONG’
LOOK: MMDA General Manager Usec. Nicolas Torre III questions the effectiveness of Davao City’s flood control system despite billions of pesos being spent on the projects after his house was once again affected by flooding.
“Hindi ito ang unang beses na binaha ang bahay na iyan. Hindi lang ako nagpo-post dahil ayaw kong makulayan ng pulitika,” he wrote in a Facebook post. “Pero darating talaga ang panahon na kailangan nang itanong kung bakit paulit-ulit pa rin itong nangyayari.” | 📷: Torre/Facebook
