@daviddorr (typo corrected) too true, @daviddorr. elected officials are now the core of racketeering, and we are all just along for the ride. anyone not understanding this from the back-and-forth of the war news cycle is oblivious to the corruption.
@planethunter56 What he’s saying doesn’t logically support that assumption. Nuke observation, and disabling, is just as much in interest of preventing us from destroying ourselves and/ Earth. And NHI intent is not singular among/within species. The position is premature cognitive commitment.
@GarryPNolan@SETIInstitute@AstronomyMag Always appreciate your perspective @GarryPNolan. I laughed at the question of it the search “still matters” in the post, as being so far from scientific awareness on the issue.
@chigrl Everything said here is right, but for the second sentence. None of that makes it not an oil shock, and the price spike of oil reveals it is indeed precisely that.
The entire future of the global economy is teetering on the brink, and the President of the US cancels a trip to negotiate on his war without clear goals, because it is "too much work". What an embarrassment.
@Fxhedgers haven't you been doing that for over a year now....? more when you think there is no need for NATO, less when the obvious need becomes clear again?
@Stevephenni@chigrl Fair point indeed. and we should all be aware of the relative impact per unit energy output....as the narrative about wind is a bit off balance given that in volume and risk it is miniscule compared to fossil fuels.
@matthew_pines@DrPippaM Highly unlikely, as Helion has not achieved a net gain in energy production yet, and once they or others do it will take years to go from lab bench to full technical and commercial readiness.
I see that you’ve decided to arbitrarily cut the analysis off in 2007, but that hardly makes for a rational or convincing case. There’s no reason to choose that particular year at all, particularly given that your conclusion is contradicted by all the performance since that. Seems like analysis to support a preconceived conclusion.
@JoeyTweeets Not remotely! Excluding the impact of the war in the past month or so gold has out performed any other investment over the last century. If you wanna talk about a blood bath, just look at crypto markets over the past year or two.
