@mikejthompson @Cantabular1 and making the opacity of the coloured legend rectangles equal to the opacity of the choropleth layer. I'd tend to avoid changing the map colour on hover too (although I'm not sure if that matters).

I usually do this by putting a little grey rectangle behind each legend rectangle that matches the main background colour of the map,

A quick thread on some beeswarm-plot layout generators I've been working on. The goals of these are to be fast, compact, and represent the data exactly (so no force-directed layout etc.) cc beeswarm aficionados @flowingdata and @NinadB_06

In R, the latest version of the beeswarm package (0.4.0) supports compact beeswarms. Use method="compactswarm". It should also work with ggbeeswarm. https://t.co/qEEh0Yk2Ry
