Meet the Alberta NDP's new federal boss.
Avi Lewis wants to hike taxes, ban new pipelines, and shut down oil and gas production. And he wants Naheed Nenshi as Premier.
Same party. Same values. Same anti-Alberta agenda.
This weekend, NDP members elected self-declared “eco-socialist” Avi Lewis @avilewis as their leader.
Lewis has called for a full ban on new pipelines and all fossil fuel development, at a time when the world needs Alberta energy more than ever.
And while Naheed Nenshi @nenshi may try to distance himself, the Alberta NDP’s own constitution makes clear they are tied to the federal party.
The truth is, the Alberta NDP has a long track record of opposing pipelines and energy development. Their extreme views are a danger to jobs and affordability.
The UCP will never stop fighting against radical forces, including the Alberta NDP, who want to shut down our economy and keep our resources in the ground.
Congratulations to President Trump on successfully arresting narco-terrorist and socialist dictator Nicolas Maduro, who should live out his days in prison.
The legitimate winner of the most recent Venezuelan elections, Edmundo González, should take office along with the courageous hero and voice of the Venezuelan people, María Corina Machado.
Down with socialism. Long live freedom.
🚨BIG WIN FOR LAW-ABIDING FIREARMS OWNERS 🚨
Premier @ABDanielleSmith has announced a new motion under the Alberta Sovereignty within a United Canada Act that tells Ottawa:
❌NO federal gun grabs in Alberta
❌Law-enforcement and provincial entities in Alberta will NOT ENFORCE the gun grab
✅The motion makes CLEAR that Albertans have the right to use reasonable force to defend themselves, their families and their homes from intruders
Enough is enough. Law-abiding hunters, farmers, and sport shooters are NOT the problem. Smuggled illegal guns ARE.
“Albertans have the right to protect their homes and their families. No one should hesitate to defend themselves when faced with a threat at their own doorway.” - Premier Danielle Smith
“So, Liberals had $654 billion in deficit spending?”
“Yes, Dave.”
“And inflation skyrocketed and investment fled Canada?”
“Yes, Dave.”
“And now you want to run a new $78 billion dollar deficit…”
Today, we reflect on and remember all of those who served our country with pride. We remember all of those who came home injured, those who came home with unseen injuries, and those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for peace and freedom. #CanadaRemembers
“If an election is held now, I will lose my seat. I might as well not run.” Chris d’Entremont to me this past weekend. Make no mistake. There is nothing in his floor crossing about principles. It was about keeping his job.
💰$240 billion.
That’s how much Canada stands to lose between now and 2040 if no new pipelines are built.
Canada cannot afford to leave Alberta's resource wealth in the ground.
Premier Smith is right: "All [the Prime Minister] has to do is say yes to a new Alberta bitumen pipeline to Canada’s West Coast."

Every Canadian observing the pipeline chatter going on right now should know this truth: pipelines that cross provincial borders, and pipelines for export, are indisputably FEDERAL jurisdiction in Canada.
This isn't a theoretical question, a philosophical debate, or an ideological perspective. It's not even a concept evolving judicially either. It's settled fact in Canada. Period. (1/4)
Premier Smith said it best: “This isn’t justice; it’s a betrayal of victims, their families, and every law-abiding Albertan.”
Ottawa’s broken bail system keeps releasing repeat offenders. Violent offenders walk free while families pay the price.
Ottawa must end their dangerous catch-and-release bail system. Canadians deserve better.
Thanks to our police and strong support from our government, crime dropped 9 percent last year. That’s twice the national average.
We’re doing our part. But Ottawa isn’t. Their broken bail system keeps letting repeat criminals back out. Violent offenders walk free while families pay the price.
It’s time for them to fix their broken system and start putting the safety of Canadians ahead of repeat criminals.
Enough. This headline is false.
This is not a UCP candidate, but a person with the same name. The mainstream media quietly corrected the bottom of the story after they got it wrong, but are still tweeting the false headline for clicks just an hour ago. This is deliberate and dishonest.
The candidate deserves a public apology. Then they can tweet that for clicks.
Earlier today, multiple media outlets including the Canadian Press, Global News, and CTV published an inaccurate story alleging that a former UCP candidate has been found in contempt for not complying with an Elections Alberta investigation.
This is completely inaccurate and is a prime example of mainstream media being careless and irresponsible in their reporting.
This individual was in fact not a UCP candidate, but rather – simply holds the same name as a former candidate. Further, it’s extremely concerning that despite multiple calls to editors and the author of the article – these stories remained published and were not corrected for hours.
These outlets should each apologize to Albertans for the misinformation and should commit to a sincere effort of increased due diligence before publishing such accusations in the future.
Albertans deserve more from the industry that is supposed to be keeping them reliably informed using fair and accurate information.

Asked twice why Saudi oil is treated more favourably than Canadian oil by this Liberal government, the Ministers of Energy and Environment clearly told their House Leader they wanted no part of the question (watch the left part of the screen before the first response).
In the end, the Energy Minister drew the short straw on the first question and then punted the second off to the Secretary of State for Rural Development!
