Reluctantly looking to move on our suckle cows.
Hereford, Angus and Angus cross cows from 3-10 years old. Angus calves at foot on some. Been running with Angus bull since mid summer. DM for details and please retweet.
Will get better photos soon. #farming#beef
@sussexfarming This is our 3rd year regrowth, due a cut this year to keep it thick. Alive with yellowhammers and leaving some longer hazel in rotation seems to be helping the doremice...#nationalhedgerowweek
@DickyWood1 Your next door neighbours don’t bother, (unless they are next to the river)......but maybe that’s why we never have as many as we think we should!
Great strawberries yesterday!!
@sussexfarming@Gameandwildlife This cold weather has been great for seeing farm birds. Nearly 200 hundred lapwing on the dairy ground and more fieldfares and redwings than I have ever seen following the sheep on turnips.
@Appleton_Dairy James Bridgland, phase consultants in Lewes. Very helpful and did our inititial report with a check up whenever we feel necessary. Did a really helpful briefing for all employees last year too.
@farmerdanb@RansonNick@DairyDayment@fordcows@JoeDelves Same here. Had to run the harrows over the land we spread with dribble bar to disperse the lines. We are cutting for heifers and dry cows as soon as poss because 3rd and 4th cut are going to be critical!
