A customer just asked, “what cuts of meats are included in Meaties? Are you using the cheapest stuff to save money??”
This highlights an important aspect of ground beef, namely that you can safely assume any ground beef you buy was made from all of the leftover meat and connective tissue that wasn’t able to fetch a higher price as a standalone cut.
So yes, Meaties is made from the “cheapest stuff” because we make our cereal entirely from 80/20 ground beef. What most people fail to realize is that this cheapest source of beef is also the BEST source of beef. Collecting everything leftover and grinding it together into a perfect blend of protein, fat and collagen is a feature, not a bug.
And despite being the “cheapest stuff” our core ingredient is still 83X more expensive than the base ingredient of all the most popular breakfast cereals (🌽). Fortunately it’s 1000X better for your body so we don’t mind.
It’s crazy how you can remember exactly where you were during important moments like 9/11, Michael Jackson’s death, learning that Lil Ugly Mane was white (winter 2013 in my buddy Tom’s basement)
