Department of ED: “Students are dealing with so much stress, anxiety and pressure this year. They are breaking down and depressed.”
Also DOE: “Students WILL be taking standardized tests this year.”

Teachers have always worked under high stress which is why there has been a 50% turnover every 5 years. But now it is literally uncharted territory. Education is in need of many changes, but doing more for teachers has to be the priority or none of the other changes will matter.
Some of you may need this reminder: you may be really struggling and may even feel like you're failing right now. But, remember that

Pause, catch your breath, reflect, and keep going.
Wishing all of my FCPS1 teacher friends a happy first day of school! May your coffee be strong, and your internet connection stronger! You got this! 👏🏼🎉😊👍🏼

@DrJeck if we choose the 100% virtual model for our child, will they be able to stay a virtual student for the entire school year, even if school returns to 5 days a week?
Georgia is suspending standardized testing for the upcoming school year & formal teacher evals and are seeking to permanently cut certain tests. This will also save $10's of millions from the budget that can be used toward teacher pay, etc. Let's hope other states step up!
@ChristinePetru5 @HaymarketCubs@scottlbaldwin@LauraEGazda What great writing! Please tell Tori I’m so proud of her and I’m so glad she was in my class this year! ❤️
