Why study sharks? Well, sharks play an important role in ecosystems by keeping prey populations in check, controlling flow of nutrients, preventing the spread of diseases & invasive species, & creating new habitats for other organisms. Shark conservation is ocean conservation.

As a side note, I'm not discussing how TD13 & TD14 may interact in the gulf yet because that requires seeing through the fog of the next 2 days. Too many questions need to be answered about how strong each storm is as they approach the gulf, and whether both storms even exist.
