@HRWright I'm no expert here, but as the street seems to have disappeared sometime in the 19th century, I'm assuming the book is set awhile ago. In which case East London is probably correct.
@PellicleJonny I've really cut back on the amount of natural wine I'm buying now it's only me drinking, 9/10 times mousey the next day. Think maybe I I just had a really unlucky run...
@jamiegoode I'm a big fan but was struggling in lockdown. Nobody to drink with and I'm finding 90% of bottles tasting mousey the next day. Clearly need to drink more.
@PeterMacCiarrai Unless you have a big budget I'd suggest you get a single, good chef's knife rather than a set. Sets often have knives that are basically the same, just in different sizes which is not very helpful
@demarionunn As someone who finds themselves slowly inching towards Barnet the cantonese is great news, but you guys were clearly not eating the standard menu, what's the secret?
@demarionunn@higgyC Culminated in him demanded more 'tahana' on his aubergine and tahini dish (the ratio was fine!). Slightly stockier brother says nothing but empties the entire bottle of tahini over his plate. Was amazing.
@demarionunn@higgyC Demanded the entire menu be explained in detail before he ordered (they were super busy), threw a hissy fit when he didn't get to choose his salad, made them remake it (he chose the exact same things they did)
@higgyC@demarionunn I can confirm the place was swimming with Times readers last time I went. One particular guy received some of the most spectacularly rude (and 100% deserved) service I've ever seen.
@boundaryzonesix Did a similarly expensive thing when I parked in a wood green cpz business bay with a residents permit. Next one over would have been fine!
@chrispople I went at lunch and was similarly unimpressed. The chicken wings were rubbish too, under seasoned and sitting on a sickly sweet chilli sauce. At least it was relatively cheap.
@PJMcKerry Depending on your feelings about Craft the one behind the Gherkin is OK. Otherwise I head to the The Bull, not the best pub but they have a permanent Kernel IPA tap.
