15 Days of Unlawful Detention of Dr. Mahrang Baloch and Others Following Expiry of 3MPO

Dr. Mahrang Baloch, head of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), along with other BYC leaders, remains in custody despite the expiration of the three-month detention period under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order (3MPO) on June 22, 2025.

For the past 15 days, they have been held without any legal authority, judicial oversight, or formal explanation—constituting a clear violation of Article 9 of Pakistan’s Constitution and international human rights obligations. Their continued incarceration amounts to arbitrary and unlawful detention.

We demand their immediate and unconditional release and call for legal accountability for those responsible for this ongoing violation of fundamental rights.

Today marks three months since the abduction of my father.

On April 5th, 2025, he was summoned by SP Hub, Syed Fazal Bukhari. He went without hesitation,because he is not a criminal. But when he arrived, he was told he would not be allowed to leave until I, his daughter, resigned from the Baloch Yakjehti Committee or surrendered. This is not just unlawful,it is immoral, inhumane, and a blatant abuse of power.

Those who take pride in such acts of repression should remember: power is temporary, and injustice leaves a permanent stain. Today, Syed Fazal Bukhari acted not as an officer of the law, but as an agent of abduction. On this sacred day of Muharram, I pray that those who orchestrate and enable such cruelty meet justice,not only in this world, but in the hereafter. And may those who celebrate or defend the oppressors see their pride crumble before the downfall of tyranny.

I am just 28 years old, yet I have witnessed how oppression turns in on itself. History holds the truth,turn its pages and you will see what became of those who harmed the Baloch people. Some were disgraced and labeled as collaborators, others lost their families to betrayal, some fell into addiction, and a few met the gallows. None are remembered as heroes. They died clinging to power, but were buried in dishonor.

Those who continue to deny history and justify cruelty should know: the fight for truth never dies. It grows stronger, because it is rooted in moral conviction. No matter how powerful the oppressor may seem, their greed becomes their weakness. While the struggle of the oppressed may appear defeated at times, every passing moment chips away at tyranny. And one day, it will collapse,because that is the law of nature, the rhythm of revolution. And no one can escape it.
