Her name was Shehla Masood.

She was 38 years old, lived in Bhopal, and ran an event management company.

Then in 2009, she discovered the RTI Act.

She filed over 200 RTI applications in two years. She exposed illegal construction happening in plain sight. She fought to save tigers being poached by the very forest officers meant to protect them. She took on Rio Tinto, a global mining giant sitting on 27.4 million carats of diamonds inside a protected forest in Chhattarpur. Two district collectors were transferred to make that mining happen. She filed RTIs, went to parliament, and stopped it.

A month before she died, she gave an interview. She said she feared for her life but would not stop, because the nexus between politicians and babus was slowly poisoning this country.

On August 16, 2011, she sat in her car outside her home, about to leave for an Anna Hazare rally.

A hired gunman shot her once through the throat.

The CBI said the motive was a love triangle. Four people were convicted and sentenced to life. The mining angle was never investigated.

Her father told investigators that high profile people had conspired to kill his daughter.

Nobody listened.

She was posthumously given the SR Jindal Crusade Against Corruption Award, an honour shared with APJ Abdul Kalam.

India rewarded her with a bullet, then gave her an award, then forgot her name.

Then two girls arrive there, The girls say, "Will you give us a ride?"

The girls mention a destination a few kilometers away and ask, "How much will you charge?"

The boy asks for ₹1200 instead of ₹500,

Seeing the expensive car, the girls are initially a bit surprised,

But as soon as they hear the fare, they immediately get out of the car.

आज #मुंबई येथे झालेल्या बैठकीत #गुलशन फाऊंडेशनला विटनेस म्हणून बोलावण्यात आलं होतं आणि त्यांचे प्रतिनिधी अत्यंत महत्त्वाच्या मुद्द्यांवर चर्चा करत होते. #वक्फ अलाइनमेंट बिल बद्दल कसं फायद्याचं आहे,हे लवकरात लवकर लागू झालं पाहिजे.वक्फ बोर्डाचे नियोजन हे समाजाच्या हितासाठी आणि पारदर्शकतेने व्हायला हवे. वक्फ बोर्ड कश्याप्रकारे जमिनी ताब्यात घेतं,वक्फ बोर्डाच्या आधारे कश्या पद्धतीने पिळवणूक केली जाते ही त्यांची मतं मांडत असताना #तृणुमुल काँग्रेसचे खासदार कल्याण बॅनर्जी व्यत्यय आणत होते.

जेव्हा एखाद्या बैठकीत प्रतिनिधींना बोलावलं जातं, तेव्हा त्यांना आपले मुद्दे मांडण्यासाठी संधी दिली गेली पाहिजे. पण गुलशन फाऊंडेशनचे प्रतिनिधी त्यांची भूमिका मांडत असताना त्यांच्यावर ओरडणं, त्यांना चुकीच्या शब्दात बोलणं, आणि त्यांचा अपमान करणं हा प्रकार पूर्णपणे निंदनीय आहे. एखाद्या व्यक्तीला विशेषत: जेव्हा ती #विटनेस म्हणून बोलावलेली असते तेव्हा तिचा अपमान करणं अत्यंत चुकीचं आहे. हा फक्त त्या व्यक्तीचाचं नाही तर संपूर्ण व्यवस्थेचा अपमान आहे.

मी स्वतः अशा प्रकारच्या गैरवर्तनाचा कधीच स्वीकार करणार नाही. बैठकीत बोलावलेल्या प्रत्येक व्यक्तीचा सन्मान राखला गेलाच पाहिजे. त्यांची मतं शांतपणे ऐकली गेली पाहिजेत, आणि आपल्यासारखं दुसऱ्याचं म्हणणंही तेवढच महत्त्वाचं असतं हे लक्षात ठेवलं पाहिजे.

कोणत्याही महत्त्वाच्या मुद्द्यांवर चर्चा करताना #शांतपणे व सभ्यतेने प्रत्येकाचं म्हणणं ऐकून घेणं आवश्यक आहे. जर महत्त्वाच्या बैठकींमध्ये दुसऱ्यांवर अशी अरेरावी केली तर कोणताही निर्णय घेता येणार नाही. प्रत्येकाची बाजू ऐकणं आणि त्यातून योग्य #निष्कर्ष काढणं ही आपली जबाबदारी आहे.

महाराष्ट्रातील माझ्या बळीराजाला वीज मोफत देण्याचा निर्णय महायुती सरकारने घेतला. या निर्णयाची अंमलबजावणी करण्यासाठी सरकारने 'जी आर ' काढला.

आता राज्यभरातील माझ्या ४४ लाख तीन हजार कृषी पंपधारक शेतकरी बांधवांना पाच वर्षे मोफत वीज मिळणार आहे.
