The Prague Security Studies Institute (PSSI) joined other space institutions, companies, agencies, government officials, experts, young professional and students at the 2024 International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in Milan, the largest IAC gathering yet. 🛰️
The Congress covered a wide variety of topics, including space exploration, satellite technologies, commercial activities, space law and policy, and international cooperation. PSSI’s Managing Director, Dr. Jana Robinson, introduced key findings of the 7th Prague Space Security Conference at the IAF Committee on Space Security. She likewise co-chaired a Technical Session on “Assuring a Safe, Secure and Sustainable Environment for Space Activities”.

Dr. Jana Robinson, PSSI’s Managing Director, contributed to the first panel at ESPI's annual conference, entitled “Scaling European Space Capabilities for Security & Defence: From Ambition to Implementation”.
She discussed the primary drivers of the increased public interest in this portfolio, issues related to space hybrid threats, and the risks and threats posed by China’s malign commercial and financial statecraft in the space sector.
She likewise appeared on panel 4, the closing panel of the conference, which focused on “leveraging different dimensions” of space security in implementing Europe’s policy ambitions in this domain.
