Honored to spend time this morning as Guest Lecturer for @LamarUniversity College of Educ & Human Devel Summer Counseling Residency. Had a great time increasing awareness about homelessness and encouraging these emerging school, marriage and family, and professional counselors!
Had a great afternoon with some of the Educational and Treatment Council staff unpacking cultural humility as a tool for strengthening families. Loved seeing old friends, new friends, and former students.
@SheaSwauger Some libraries have a "Friend of the Library" program that provides access for a nominal annual membership fee. That's what I used when I was between degrees.
I hope everyone can find time and space today to really absorb a critical message: that you and your work matter, that your positive impact on others can't always be seen directly, and that you have the power to help change the world for the better!
I wonder about my impact every damn day, but being part of Relevate has been amazing. The team is two parts dedication, one part exhausted professionals with kids in the background, and one part profanity. Perfection.

@lavenes @Kalemonk @ddwitzz Yes @lavenes! I used Word transcription for my dissertation and it worked beautifully. Each hour long interview only took about 5 minutes to transcribe. https://t.co/Kek7Pb3TQw
@EWhitteck I was working my way through a PhD by adjuncting at a small regional university. My dissertation chair described me as a fierce advocate for my marginalized students. I had no idea that others saw that in me. I turned into a puddle of emotions.
