Today, on his birthday, we celebrate our late Ambassador Paul OโGrady.
Paul was a passionate animal lover, an LGBT icon, and a dear friend of Battersea. He will always be remembered as a hero to us and the animals whose lives he changed. ๐
People from around the ๐are calling for @YEGMayorOffice to finally end ๐ #Lucys captivity for good, & to close the @CAZA_AZAC loophole that the zoo have exploited for decades, to keep a social Asian๐alone.
#YegZoo is not about conservation itโs a business.

Do elephants remember who was kind to them?
Yes โ and across decades. Our ex-orphans return to the stockades long after they've gone wild, recognise specific Keepers by name, and bring their wild-born calves home to introduce them. They even come back for help.
Last month, Melia walked her new daughter Moon to our Ithumba Reintegration Unit โ sixteen years after we rescued her. She came back so the people who raised her could meet her calf.
"Swimmers warned to avoid sewage release area."
Southern Water up to their old tricks again I see. Sewage illegally dumped into the sea and people told to say out of the water.

When an orphaned elephant loses their mother, we step in to offer them hope and a family.
Kaikai, rescued as a newborn, wanted constant physical touch and to know she was at the centre of her Keepersโ universe โ which she was!
The care they receive today helps ensure they can return to the wild when they are ready. Alongside comfort, we provide three-hourly milk feeds, specialist care and a nurturing environment where they can thrive.
