It’s tricky. Even with AI taking over some admin or teaching work like Primer or Alpha, schools still need human guides who can only handle so many students.
Scaling efficiently while keeping quality high is hard, especially when you add costs like recruitment OR paying teachers a fair salary, challenges public schools don’t face.

ESAs are reshaping education. In the past you either had the money or you didn't..

In Alabama alone, over half the students at some private schools already use ESA funds, and it's only growing.

Most apps are geared towards advertising incentives and meaningless input metrics (10 hrs learning) vs outcome metrics.

Based on several studies and data we’ve collected while actively testing this with 100+ students, it really depends on baseline motivation.

For kids who already love to read, incentives can backfire. For reluctant readers with no habit, they can act as an activation mechanism that builds one. It’s nuanced, but I get why people feel strongly about it.

But it's been all positive! We now have 200+ schools on the waitlist!

The map shows where signups are coming from, with big clusters in Texas and California.

@chrisman Agreed, but it requires a big shift in the gatekeepers of public schools, curriculum 'experts', and a restructuring of teacher unions. I don't think that will happen anytime soon.

We can speed up the transition by implementing AI tutors as supplemental for now.
