THIS GUY SET A CRON JOB TO PING CLAUDE AT 7AM EVERY DAY SO THEIR USAGE WINDOW RESETS EARLIER AND THEY GET MORE USAGE

your 5 hour usage window doesnt reset on a clock, it starts the moment you send your first message of the day

so if your first prompt is at noon, your window runs noon to 5pm and youve burned the whole morning

he automated a "hi" at 7am instead

now the window opens early, resets earlier, and he gets more usable hours in the day without lifting a finger

> a cron job fires one tiny message every morning
> the 5 hour window starts at 7am instead of whenever you sit down
> people tuned it further, use haiku and send "ping" so the reply is just "pong", barely any tokens used
> the same idea works for codex

its such a small move but its genuinely so smart

Is not great. You can't specify a model per task. You're stuck with a "secondary" model for ALL delegate_task and even that is hit or miss.

I've been waiting for at least ONE of the open PRs that resolve this to get merged (for months).
