@DellCares I have a server with a faulty DIMM. Is our “NBD” prosupport “your fault is no big deal to us”? The original SR is 10 days old now. I didn’t mark it S1 since it’s in a lightly loaded redundant cluster, but didn’t expect that to mean waiting weeks!
@jfberg99@davepl1968 I'm guessing Dave is using some sort of remote desktop tool like VNC, and it doesn’t sync control key state on (re)connection? Not a “Linux” thing though, never had that with SSH or X or indeed VM virtual consoles.
@LawrPaulson@TaliaRinger Hm, we started offering a computer security for non-computing people at @AbertayCyber - worked well apart from computer game dev qualifying as “non-computing” at first due to mad org chart at the time. Is an elective something more specific than that sort of option?
@Frederi74698564@LibDems Unfortunately our courts don't (currently) interpret the “directly fleeing” part that literally; I think efforts to tighten their application recently were disrupted by the change of government.
@bpatters@ctrlaltrefuel@orthomaton Resistive heating is much more expensive than gas - but heat pumps (AC) is much more efficient, cancelling most if not all of that difference.
@MadelaineLucyH Sounds like one Mr E Musk, but with his track record how could we tell whether the rockets are blowing up for secret genocidal reasons or just because he cut every corner possible with no regard for safety?
@nobody776144859@QuinnyPig And you want your calendar/database to be a slave or mirror of Delta's corporate one? I don't.
"Add and edit/delete their own entries" is all Delta should be asking for and using.
@MadelaineLucyH "Some guy you never heard of has left a job you never knew he had, for reasons we won't tell you! Also WW3 imminent." Ah, priorities...
@Adidotdev@f_cullmann@Mayank_Msd No, it indexes pages generated by other people. I this case, it'll find you pages explaining why telling someone whether or not that email address has an account is a problem.
@andreavogt "Straight"? That's the situation @amandaknox described already apart from your "on basis" bit: he granted permission for the footage, has been provided a copy of the finished product but not yet commented on that. Totally different from earlier "did not sign release" claim.
@andreavogt Legal repercussions for someone, certainly, depending whether this is actually true and what Disney's lawyers make of it, with the long exchange of communication between them and the camera apparently being in plain view. Where does he make this claim?
@369Lurker@ShakeLS Unless they meant the 2014 referendum - GBP was dropping most of the year, but did jump when "no" won in Scotland.
If the government did have inside information on the voting, they hid it pretty well both times - Cameron certainly didn't seem to know what was coming!
@CathyMBrock@DHSgov Being detained, as per Estelle v Gamble. Let the government lock anyone up without court oversight, and what's to stop the next detainee being you? You want to trust them to choose whether or not you get any rights, or a proper court?
@DancerDad@stupicide@LeeHurstComic@elonmusk They rolled over years ago, blocking “illegal” content: first anything IWF flagged (often without any checks), then The Pirate Bay, part of Wikipedia briefly - and they didn’t even pretend to fight it. Maybe they’d finally make a stand if Twitter got blocked - maybe.
