Can confirm, this was a great episode and great interviewing with a cardiologist you've probably never heard of. Because doing real science has a way of sucking time away from self-promotion. Great catch @DrDeepMD!
The cardiologist from the Cleveland clinic who blew the whistle on Vioxx received death threats and faced a career takedown
But he stayed strong in the face of truth and held pharma responsible for their actions
Now he helps develop the next gen of meds

@Lothenes@paulg Which people should be paid though? Should that include anyone with an empty uterus as empty as their wallet, whose main desire is not to fill the former, but the latter?
@paulg I believe the far right has some opinions on nurture, too.
Annoyingly, epigenetics and prenatal factors matter enough to ask, "In what ways was your nature nurtured in your mother and (grandmother's) womb, and all that occurred during their lives, and the life of your father?"
@AmericaPapaBear Combine a lack of access to free long-acting birth control, with a very limited population of un-incarcerated men, and a larg number of desperate women stuck in those neighborhoods, and you've got your answer. Easier access to birth control is one solution.
@paulg I aim for ideas that are liked by both sides b/c they've yet to be poisoned by political discussions.
Like reducing abortions by providing the highest-risk women with free long-acting contraception.
Like funding GLPs for the Medicaid population by taxing added sodium/sugar.
@pitdesi Great idea, never actually thought to do that. But at that point, you might as well just buy some plain crusts to save money, then just do the rest yourself. And then make your millions selling it.
@DrDeepMD It's a CBT technique to ask yourself, "What would you tell a friend who's going through the exact same problem as you?" As doctors, we not only do it, but we document it. And yet, we still struggle to take our own advice. Humility first, then growth.
@ash_physio@foundmyfitness Ferritin is actually a measure of inflammation along with iron stores. Your doctor should be checking more than just that to evaluate your iron status. It's possible to have decreased as a measure of inflammation, which might be a good thing.
@mwseibel Sameer @SoodDO founded https://t.co/wBjIp5YluI might interest you as a unique public/private synergy that's already housing people with a net savings to the system.
We both have more ideas that might interest you. We'd love to chat.
@mwseibel Hi Michael, you and I grew up on the same block. I believe we had an ideal mix of govt and non-govt. We saw kids around us take very different paths despite having the same baseline dose of govt, which made non-govt the deciding factor. @SoodDO is doing it with his startup.
@KillerHippie2 Imagine being remembered for nothing more than her "but down jones 50k!!" screech. Even Epstein was groaning from something other than the heat that day.
@SamaHoole Superimpose a map of per capita wealth per state and per capita caloric intake (from all sources) and you might get some confounding variables.

@kennymxu The "antisocial" Asians/non-Asians will be engineers/programmers/etc and get paid well. Most "social" Asians/non-Asians will do everything else, except teach. Why? Because most humans want to be paid well.
@jameskale458947@SamaHoole I wish above all else that's your real last name. Or that your comment is as sarcastic as your last name. One of those things.
