@RealSimpleAriel Might be a short somewhere. I've had a power cable connected to the mb that worked fine 95% of the time but a little tremor of the desk could cause the pc to restart. I found out by wiggling the cables.
@VictoriaLinML This is really cool and really aligns with my mental model of "next level thinking" where you start quantifying the qualitative, then qualify the quantitative, and so on. It's part of my MetaFlow model and the what-why-how chain.
My https://t.co/FgauJO4lK5 dashboard is really coming together, showing me my TDEE, average daily deficit, average hourly calorie burn and more. Do you know your TDEE? #showmeyourtdee#knowyournumbers
I don't have good ideas, I get them. So knowing that, my process is centered around that mechanism. So I dive in, absorb, assimilate, pay attention, try to understand. And then I step away and allow the brain and nervous system to do their thing.
@RealSimpleAriel You are such a gem when it comes to teaching the ways of the market. Thank you for your insights and being Stern when needed. You saved me from myself a couple of times already π
Egypt and Pakistan are currently functioning more as message carriers than true mediators, and it is doubtful they have either the leverage or the capacity to bridge the gap between the sides.
The core problem is not the transmission of messages, but their substance and beyond that, the fundamentally different approaches each side brings to the table.
The U.S. administration appears to operate under the assumption that Iran is in a weakened position, and therefore seeks to impose terms that, from Tehranβs perspective, look less like negotiation and more like diktats. Iran, however, reads the situation very differently. It believes it holds the upper hand, particularly given its ability to exert significant influence over global economic stability, especially through energy markets and maritime chokepoints.
Even if Trump were to extend his ultimatum by a few days, it would not materially change Iranβs position. Tehran is unlikely to agree to a ceasefire without concrete guarantees against future attacks, compensation, and some form of recognition of its control or influence over key strategic waterways. Beyond that, Iran is also linking any ceasefire to a broader de-escalation across multiple arenas.
In practical terms, Iranβs maximum demands do not come close to aligning with the minimum conditions the United States expects. This is not a gap that Egypt, Pakistan, or any other intermediary can realistically bridge. The issue is structural, not procedural.
Iran is unlikely to capitulate. Conversely, if the U.S. administration continues to hold its current line, it may eventually face a point where it must shift strategy or take decisive action.

We went from balanced to unbalanced, from tribal glory to personal glory, from feeling to overthinking, from giving as the highest to taking as the highest, from humility as a quality trade to arrogance. What a pathetic run for humankind, we failed the part that mattered more.
