@ymnis_v1@hawkdeltaX30@Alt_Shift_Kill Across PC/Steam, PS and Xbox you’re looking at nearly 300mil users. 30mil are GP subscribers.
If your game fails because 10% of gamers could play it on GP maybe your game just isn’t good
If a game as bad as Wolverine can sell well only on PS, no other game has an excuse tbh
@Quelxes@Ice100x@KTiereny@rzchit@Headiswreckedd Are you stupid? The cost of E-Days development would be included in the 4.85B in expenses. Profit is what is left over after all development costs are accounted for. So that means the revenue did cover the cost of making E-Day and they had a little left over.
@KTiereny@Ice100x@GoodTribeGaming@rzchit@Headiswreckedd When someone asks you how much you make for a living, do you tell them your overall salary? Or do you tell them how much you make after you subtract all your living expenses?
Profit is also what a company makes but most people use “make” for total revenue
@KTiereny@Ice100x@GoodTribeGaming@rzchit@Headiswreckedd So question. When people say Wolverine has made over $200 million in the first month. Do you think that’s profit over its $300 million dollar budget? Did Wolverine do $500 mil in revenue?
@KTiereny@Ice100x@GoodTribeGaming@rzchit@Headiswreckedd Dude you’ve been arguing this dumb point for over a day now. This all started because you said Gamepass didn’t “make” 5 billion. You got proven wrong and now you’re just pivoting all over the place.
No shit profit is important. Literally no one was arguing it wasn’t.
@KTiereny@Ice100x@rzchit@TimothyWar35973@Headiswreckedd No. Profit is profit.
How much you made is your revenue
How much you spent is your expense
This is like finance 101
Not every business can generate revenue but every business can cut expenses.
@Indiana_England@Gaming_Grifter Just an example off the top of my head. You can argue many shows on streaming “flopped” purely based on physical sales.
GoT is probably more in line with Forza and how that series was able to sell outside of subscription.
The fact is metrics for success are very different
@Regrado1148661@Dread_Sandwich@BennyBooker23 True, still Xbox is a 24bil company vs 31bil for PlayStation despite having 1/4 the players. That’s because Xbox players spend more on average.
@JusticeSolid@Dread_Sandwich@BennyBooker23 That’s purely due to PlayStation having 3-4x the player base.
A majority of ps+ subscribers are on the lowest tier while a majority of GP subscribers are on the highest.
Xbox makes 23bil in revenues vs PS’s 31bil despite having 1/4 of the player base because they spend more
@Dread_Sandwich@BennyBooker23 LMAOOO the average PlayStation player buys like 2.5 games a YEAR 😭😭 Y’all buy two games, spend 1,000 hours on Fortnite, then get on here lecturing Xbox players about supporting developers 💀 At least Game Pass subscribers are spending $260 a year way more than PlayStation
@kiwitalkz@GameOverThirty Not realistic when they still make a majority of their money from hardware either through consoles being their #1 Gamepass platform or the huge amount they make from 3rd party transactions on xbox. Ditching hardware is a quick way to lose 40% of their revenue.
@recogn1z3r@BrokenGamezHDR_ It’s not profitable, yet Microsoft turned around and cut Ultimate by $84 a year for EVERY subscriber? 😂 That’s more than a full-priced copy of COD. You genuinely think they took an $84 annual hit across millions of subscribers because they couldn’t afford to include one game.
@GoingForBoost@Vesmic87@rcb05 Didn’t die due to lack of popularity, they got sued because even without names you could clearly tell who the players were and players wanted to be paid for their likeness. Instead of paying or making all players completely generic they just stopped making the game
@orielkiller@Puertorock77_ The price rose to 29.99 when they added Fortnite crew, Ubisoft classic and upgraded cloud streaming. Then lowered $7 a month when they removed COD. Math is tough huh?
@torgojones@backlogcarl@bludgeonParagon@TheBigPlume The issue was over spending not the lack of revenue. Xbox brings in 24bil in revenue (not far behind PS 31bil. They just have been way overspending on things that don’t generate additional revenue like lame duck studios
@torgojones @SilverHairKaiju @backlogcarl@bludgeonParagon@TheBigPlume No you didn’t lol She named 3 areas that didn’t grew as expected while they to upscaled business spending around them.
Thats not saying any of those things were a detriment but just that the additional, excessive spending didn’t match the actual growth they were seeing.
