@jax_toro To practice your spoken, you can try making a "plan":
- Chose a topic
- Make a story in your head (not really speaking it out loud yet)
- Write down the key words in 🇫🇷/TL
- Once finished, try stringing the words together in a sentence form speaking out loud
a small example👇
@KozoSensei I’m a little confused on this part. How come it doesn’t sound like a question, and isn’t translated as a question, but it has か at the end after です?
I’m just a beginner so I’m confused lol
@mnemosyneslog I haven’t officially tested out my fluency in French but I’ve done self study for 8+ yrs and in high school I did 3yrs of honors French classes up to intermediate level. Nowadays it’s just videos and podcasts that I listen to lol
@mnemosyneslog No online friends but I find it nice to have a little community online because it’s a little reminder that other people are learning languages too. I’ve taken some in-person classes that contain people that love learning languages so I can have that as a past, subtle reminder too
@mnemosyneslog Speaking. I listen to a lot of content in French so I have good understanding, but if I had to have a conversation with someone my vocabulary seems to fly out the window and I start thinking in Spanish instead 😆
@mnemosyneslog Handwriting because I like the textural element of writing something down + I think it helps me remember the content better + it allows me to be messy instead of super organized
Unless I need to take super fast notes… then I can type faster
Inaction breeds self doubt.
The longer you sit in a chair & do nothing, the worse the self doubt gets.
Even after 10yrs trying to escape my comfort zone & go further, I frequently sit at my desk ruminating on why I’ll fail. The moment I stand up & get on with it, the doubt stops.
@NaughtyNickee @beyonceparkwood Though… I actually prefer Bad Bunny and Lizzo’s albums which both had a lot of impact as well. I’ve never heard Harry Style’s because nobody ever even asks for it to be played 😅
@NaughtyNickee @beyonceparkwood Yeah and I work at one of those “sip and paint” places as an art instructor and as soon as that album dropped that’s ALL ANYONE wanted to listen to for every class. We played the whole album like 3-4 times a day for like three weeks lmao
