Their whole worldview is that we should be made harmless, dependent, and docile like the Europeans and Australians. Gun rights are incompatible with that project. As is free speech.

It's not a coincidence the greatness of those places is over. A meek people looking to government for every need don't do great things like they may have in the past. They get eroded and eventually conquered or collapse.

The big dunk Europeans have on us is bragging about the free shit their welfare states provide (which can only exist because our military relieves the need for them to spend big on defense, btw). Ya, enjoy the long vacations and free healthcare or whatever, while everything great about you is in museums.

Every day, someone asks me: "How are you going to make my life in New York more affordable?" So I decided to list it out.

Here's my plan as your State Comptroller:

1️⃣ Launch a Fraud Strike Team. Medicaid is one of the biggest drivers of state and county budgets, and counties pass their share straight to your property tax bill. Every dollar lost to fraud comes out of your pocket. We'll find it, stop it, and recover it.

2️⃣ Cut Wall Street fees on our pension fund. Following the CalPERS model, we'll manage more of our state pension fund in-house. Lower fees mean stronger returns and less pressure on the local governments and school districts that fund your pensions through your taxes.

3️⃣ Audit the agencies that set your costs. The MTA, public authorities, and the regulators overseeing your utility bills will get real scrutiny on overtime, cost overruns, and rate hikes.

4️⃣ Stop bad state contracts. No more rubber-stamping inflated, no-bid deals. If a contract wastes your money, it doesn't get approved.

5️⃣ Hold local spending accountable. We'll use audits to catch overspending before it turns into your next tax increase.

6️⃣ Get your money back. New York is holding billions in unclaimed funds that belong to everyday New Yorkers. We'll work to return it faster and more automatically.

7️⃣ Build the jobs of the future here. Our Empire Opportunity Fund will invest $10 billion of the pension fund in future-technology sectors, bringing those companies to New York so our kids don't have to leave to find good jobs.

If I am elected, I promise to work every day to make sure you can afford to not only live in New York, but also thrive in New York.
