@CarlosHappyNPO Me & 2 friends were traveling, & I suggested we visit an A/G church in the area. I grew up A/G, & told them it’d be totally fine & normal. Not some “crazy circus.”

The service included laser lights & clowns throwing candy, to kickoff some big summer program.

I was mortified.

@baddestmamajama As a pre-teen, shop lifted 2 Kool-Aid packets w/ a friend. Immediately went around to the back of the store and poured the powder mix in our mouths…Still reeling from the unexpected bitterness. Didn’t know sugar was needed!

P.S. I get that scenarios like mass flight cancellations are a different breed altogether. Where time and patience might be in short supply.

But even in those scenarios, respect is mandatory, and kindness should be strived for.

I'm starting 2023 on a customer support call with a huge corporation. I know CS calls are stressful for many. I don't like them either! But I try to be pretty intentional when I must call CS.

To keep stress low & get my desired result, I remember these things before dialing...

5 Only call CS when I have at least 30 minutes free. It's difficult to succeed at Point 4 if I'm short on time
6 Using non-confrontational phrases (i.e. "Help me understand...") are much more fruitful than confrontational one (i.e. "That's unacceptable!")
