No cash bail and discovery rules heavily biased in favor of defendants also result in disinterested law enforcement.

If all of those things are equal across the airlines then you need to look for opportunities to cut costs.

Operating out of major airports that charge the highest fees isn't going to help cut costs.

Spirit pilots were represented by ALPA which also represents Delta, United, etc.

ALPA has a decided interest in making sure there is relatively equal pay rates across the carriers.

Which is why Spirit's cost structure was high.
