The advance tax regime for self-employed/F&O traders needs to be changed. The income in every quarter is uncertain & volatile.

The fear is so much that I have to pay more advance tax now irrespective of my income in the next quarter. Just to avoid heavy interest penalty.

My story:
Made 1Cr from 8L capital in the 2019 calendar year.
Paid ~30% in taxes
Spending + loss over the next 3 years took another 30L.
40L in a down payment on the house (fortunately)

Paused trading to focus on my practice and of course, save capital to restart next year

Heard the story of a 20 year old on a podcast, very mixed feelings about it

Guy is from a very humble background

Takes up a job, saves 1L, he sees big profit on youtube from stock market so opens a demat account and looses that money (2021)

Adds another 1L and looses it

Takes bank loan of 8L, looses it

Takes another bank loan od 7L, loses it

Tells his colleagues he is a profitable trader and borrows 13L from then at 10% monthly interest, looses it

Leaves from his job, tells his best friend that he needs "urgent money for issue at home" so his friend takes a loan of 10L from the bank and gives the guy, out of which he loses 8L and then says that he converted the remaining 2L to 1.5cr (2022)

Very very mixed feelings but regardless of outcome, this has all the inclusions of being a gambling addict who would go to any extent of deceiving the people around him to fuel the addiction
