Sometimes I still can’t believe I’ve been coding for 8 years 😅
From fixing late-night bugs in Kano 🇳🇬 → to building with teams in 🇨🇦 🇺🇸 🇪🇺 🇸🇬
Now I’m building Nana — the DoorDash for Northern Nigeria.
Sharing lessons from startups, remote work & the Hausa tech scene.
@David_Bilsonn Real tech bros are digital nomad? I will argue any "tech bro" with a car is not a tech bro? Imagine you have been in tech for 5 years and still stay in one place?
@David_Bilsonn I work as a part-time consultant at Toptal and believe me the hourly rate their is nice. Additionally, Toptal has the biggest name as clients, SDEs get to work with big companies including FAANGs.
@David_Bilsonn I don't think they'd beat Toptal. Toptal acceptance rate is <3%.
@grok between these 3 platforms which is the hardest to get in, the most reputable, and the highest paying for SDEs?
Unpopular opinion: If you’ve been in tech for up to 5 years and you’ve never earned $5K in a month,
you have no business in tech.
Go and start a farm or something.
It’s time to pack it up.
Yeah, let’s debate with someone who thinks WordPress is still peak engineering in 2026 👍
And refer to engineering products and projects as coding project.... peak ignorance.
We wrapped up our WordPress era in 2018 — y’all can keep cooking with the leftovers.
I bet you don't know who the fuck I am that is why you are capping shit like this.
I said you CANNOT code, ya talking to me about money,
This year alone I already built a POS System for the biggest gaming center in Nigeria - SOLO!
Built an ai powered recruitment platform with over 46k lines of code,
I built softwares for monster and hennessy,
Built an educational platform, and much more I can't say.
Check my portfolio and stop crying.
And btw, I am only 19. I bet at that age you were still reading for JAMB.
Also, your portfolio looks like shit! 🤮
@tobilobaCodes00@tobilobaCodes00 don't stress yourself arguing with a +234 developer! Mediocre developers have the biggest ego.
You glaze Wordpress and you still think you is relevant in 2026? 😂
Tunde got a backend role at a fintech in Lagos.
6 months later, their system crashed during Black Friday. 50,000 transactions lost.
The CTO asked one question: “who built this?”
Everything Tunde didn’t learn cost the company millions. Don’t be Tunde.
Here’s the full backend engineer roadmap
Lenovo thinkpad T14 with maxed out spec is really good. I have a Lenovo and Mac. And I still use my Mac most of the time. Mostly because I have too lazy to do a full migration to my Lenovo. Setting up my cosy environment? That will eat up all my weekend. And please let me not forget how Mac and iPhone Sync. OTPs copy and past. Images copy and paste.
Even knowing that the Lenovo is significantly faster than my Mac, I still can't leave.
If I talk now, +234 developers mob will come for me.
Only few +234 developers actually worked on real systems. By real I mean production grade with 100s of thousands of users. Real money, real users. Unlimited number of edge cases. But you will see them plastering senior software engineer... tech bro etc 🤦♂️
@TosinOlugbenga I won't touch a project if it pays less than $50. Maybe $45 if the PM doesn't look like a lesbian. I might take $45 if I love the company's name.
