This is so good and true. Often times I hear people criticizing the “church” or whose professional commentary on evangelicalism seems intellectual rather than embodied in a local church. I’ve thought for awhile that it would be a good practice for author bylines on Christian sites to require stating where one goes to church. Proves you have skin in the game versus sideline-sitting cynicism.
@KatyKatt77@TheDegenWeekly I think some of that comes from where you live. We live in a small rural town in Southern Illinois and it is different than watching them when I lived in Atlanta.
Now begins the Round of 16 in the World Cup. If the games are as good as the Round of 32, it's gonna be exciting to watch. Hoping for Canada and France wins today!!
So, what did we do this summer? Go to the beach? No. Go to the mountains? Nope. Go to a Waffle House? Not yet. Instead we led our church through a much needed makeover. It had not changed since the 70's. Still one project left to go, but so far so good.
@BobKellemen@mellyneuf@JosiahHawthorne I had been wondering since my first response, "Where does it stop?" Do we add in other things around like cleaning, and laundry. We share those in our house as well. And like you (Bob) my wife has had health issues and I did everything around the house for a time.
@mellyneuf@BobKellemen@JosiahHawthorne My wife's a great cook, but I was raised by a single mom who taught me how to cook and I cooked in restaurants when I was younger. And now, my wife and I share the cooking in our home.
