CONTROL YOUR PERSONA: A DIGITAL RIGHTS MANIFESTO
We are human beings, not training data.
We are not raw material for the AI slop machine.
We create. We write, we speak, we think, we publish. Our creativity is central to who we are. It is not free fuel for your models.
Technology, regardless of how powerful, is no more than a tool. We can use this tool to empower ourselves and create our own personas. Anyone else who does so is a criminal.
We embrace these principles and call on all AI companies to do the same.
We appreciate GG friend @jbernoff's smart complement to the topic, demonstrating how variable the cost of writing a ghostwritten chapter can be and why. https://t.co/qdI3rJ8sGb
@MinkBzComMinute I don't have evidence that this proportion has changed. It is based on 1) number of workers in each job classification per Dept of Labor, 2) estimated time each job classification spends reading, 3) avg salary of the job classification, and 4) time wasted reading poorly written..
We’re sharing #GOTGems — clips of key takeaways from GOTG panelists. Bestselling ghostwriter @jbernoff advises ghosts to discuss which publishing path to take with an author at the beginning of their relationship. Read the full summary of the panel here: https://t.co/Mh3JFwOKTU
Up now on the blog: Ghostwriters are often asked to advise clients on the best publishing path to take. @brooke_warner, @naren_amplify, @jbernoff, and @reginalbrooks weighed in on how ghostwriters can navigate this conversation at Gathering of the Ghosts: https://t.co/Mh3JFwOd4m
Interviewing is a horribly inexact science.
You just can’t know how well someone will perform in a role until they’ve actually had a chance to do it.
So be careful not to set up a hiring process so rigid and exacting that it guarantees you only hire great people. Not only will you slow your hiring to a crawl, but you’ll have certainly turned away dozens of people who would have been amazing - had you only given them the chance to show you that they could be.
