@dstor1104@Mrstanleycup In HS we would buy the old “businessman special” tickets for 1:00 mid week games. $4 to sit in the 700 level. We’d sneak in some tall boys taped to our inner legs . We’d watch baseball, drink some beers and work on our tans.
@ILikelax99 They need to a Shikoro. All jokes aside there needs to be real research into this. If softball infielders need to mask and ice hockey needs neck guards than lacrosse needs to look at protecting the base of skull.
@thomasjwwalters It is interesting & it would be better if our government wasn’t so worried about a few people getting over on them and made this available regardless of insurance. I have job sponsored health insurance so I can’t open one of these accounts.
@mnestler40 The boys & girls having matching semifinals north & south group 3 is awesome. Would have liked the South semifinals to be at the same location for the fans.
Let’s go Shawnee!!
@coachk6463 If kids are in town & missing summer events that’s a player problem or team culture problem. If they are missing becaue of work, family vacations or other sports that is just kids being kids. My son is juggling basketball, HS lax, club lax, work & ACT prep. He misses events
@TipTheDorman_9@OhioBoysLax I would love nothing more than to see separate playoffs for all sports but lacrosse is really in need. Since the OHAA sanctioned lacrosse region 7 has never had public school champion.
@KcFlowbro1@College_Crosse Lacrosse needs to take the baseball approach and play more early season games in nice weather locations. They also need to maximize their spring breaks and play 3 games that week (Sun/Wed/Sat). Also need schools with indoor field space to host neutral sites games.
@jeffmiller003@RedditCFB That is correct. This came about because schools were trying bring guys in on track scholarships so they could exceed 85 football limit.
@steverbridges@TheJacobTurner You could just take the family on weekend trips or summer vacations without the sports component. You could play local sports and work on skills in the yard or at the local ball field. Find a hobby that you and kids be part off
@MattStanmyre@StevePoliti This kind of spending is 100% self inflicted. They have convinced themselves that if it doesn’t work out they are making memories from the experiences. In reality they could participate in local sports and create experiences:memories in a different ways.
@BearEssentLax Making the field smaller would also make it more special. Up and coming teams could celebrate making the playoffs, hosting a game, getting their first win instead of just getting their teeth kicked in. Can ADs propose the change? Can coaches association champion the cause?
Fun facts to date the @OHSAASports boys D1 lax breakdown of games. Note that only 2 of the “moderate games” took place between teams seeded within the top 8 & bottom 8 seeds. That was a 8/9 & 7/10 game.
Argument could be made for top 6 in & 2 play in games would be dandy.
@chriscfore it only impacts those who start 1at grade as a 7yo & then repeat 8th grade. If you start 1st grade as a 6yo & then repeat 8th grade there is no impact to eligibility.
@papafury6 It wouldn’t even need to be the best HS team. Unfortunately there are a handful of D3 teams that take beatings every week that would lose from top 50 HS teams.
