A field director for Congressman @BennieGThompson (who headed the Jan. 6th Commission & recently proposed legislation to remove Trump’s Secret Service detail), wishing Trump’s assassin had better aim on social media.
Compared to residents of most other states, Mississippians are more likely to accrue medical debt, endure some of the worst health care access and services, and rely on care from hospitals that are growing more financially vulnerable. https://t.co/nBU485h9uR
On Expansion Lite:
Traditional Medicaid Expansion is the only viable option for Mississippi taxpayers.
It makes no difference to the Fed how they pay for the 100-138% FPL cohort: either directly through the Premium Tax credits, or through adding this cohort to the Medicaid rolls.
Either way, these people get insurance (though exchange plans often have high deductibles) at no cost to them.
However, what we do with that cohort makes a tremendous difference to Mississippi.
If we don’t let the Fed/MCOs pay for the 100-138% FPL cohort, then we pay 23% for those below the 100% FPL (the coverage gap).
If we add the 100-138% FPL cohort to Medicaid, then we get to include those in the coverage gap for free (house plan).
There is a 23% opportunity cost for the coverage gap if we do not expand, traditionally, the way 19 other Trump-voting states did it
55% of MS Republicans want to expand Medicaid to those in the coverage gap.
Traditional Expansion is the only way it makes cents.

Interesting, this study of ~100,000 + people showed that COVID-19 unvaccinated pregnant mothers' babies had poorer outcomes than vaccinated mothers.
Higher rates of:
•Still Births
•COVID-19 While Pregnant
•Low Birth Rate
Very interesting, it's almost as though the vaccine was protective of unborn babies' health and antivaxers lied.....yet again. 🤔

@JohnCaseIII@GentryMD Most hospital cafeterias are run by a third party and hardly follow any of the orders. Nonetheless. I’ve always put DM2 on ada diet. So again… nope.
