I am thoroughly sick of the activist lie regarding 'dispossession and inter-generational trauma'.

Colonial Australians are the descendants of desperate people brought here IN CHAINS to work as slaves, or as farmers dispossessed by extreme poverty - most of whom died on the way over, losing their whole family.

The waves of migrants that followed were traumatised and dispossessed by the worst wars in human history. They saw things modern activists could never imagine - things that Australia never even came close to.

We are a nation of people with difficult pasts who turned Australia into a home and forged new ancestries and new families.

You would NEVER accept 'oh, people in the past suffered' as an excuse for a parent neglecting their child or an adult drinking themselves to death.

You'd rightly tell them to get their shit together and take some personal responsibility.

Everyone's ancestors suffered. The whole of human history is a story of violence, migration, and survival.

Stop using it as an excuse to behave badly.
