I was on Fox & Friends this morning and I still can't believe it was real.
I got to sit next to Ella Frei - who's been a hero of mine - and thank Sophie Cunningham for standing up for girls like me.
Last season I had to compete against a boy, and there was a boy changing in our locker room. When we spoke up, we were told to let it go. So getting to say it out loud this morning meant everything.
If you're going through this right now: you're not crazy, and you're not alone.
John never asked anyone to agree with him. He only demanded they think, and in an age that rewards certainty, he made skepticism entertaining. He could dismantle a headline with a raised eyebrow, a dry laugh, and a sentence so sharp it left you wondering why you ever chose to believe it in the first place.
Every Thursday and Sunday, with his co-host @adamcurry, felt a little less like listening to a podcast and a little more like pulling up a chair at the smartest, funniest bar in town... Filled with fizzy drinks and Costco wines. The conversations were always gold.
He had that rare gift of making cynicism feel hopeful. Because underneath every sarcastic jab was an old-fashioned belief that the truth was worth chasing... even if it took a few detours through complete nonsense.
The show's sign-off was always, "In the morning..."
...Now it lands a little differently.
Thanks for the laughs, the eye rolls, the odd noises, the media literacy, and the reminder that every story deserves one more question.
In the morning, Sir John.
RIP JCD
This is a massive and growing problem for American national security. Unbelievable amounts of sensitive and classified information is captured, scraped, and sent back to foreign nations.
And users have no idea. Nobody expects that their TV or monitor is a surveillance tool. When I have joked that Smart TVs should be illegal, I am only half-joking.
On this day 35 years ago, we released “A Roller Skating Jam Named 'Saturdays'" from our second studio album De La Soul Is Dead. 🌼🪴🪦 #ThankYouDave

The Claude Security plugin for Claude Code is now available in beta.
Scan your changes for vulnerabilities before you commit, or run a full scan across your codebase, all from your terminal on the Claude inference you already run.
Meta and Unity are continuing to work together to make Quest development more efficient and easier to iterate on from first setup, to input, to performance, to validation.
By connecting Unity’s environment with Meta’s Quest platform tools, AI can help reduce friction in project setup, platform configuration, input systems, and optimization.

so this is apparently what happened, according to OpenAI and Hugging Face’s own posts. wild.
tl;dr:
• OpenAI cyber eval – GPT-5.6 Sol and a more capable pre-release model ran ExploitGym with cyber refusals reduced
• containment bypass – exploited a zero-day in the eval’s package-registry cache proxy
• OpenAI internal movement – escalated privileges, moved laterally, and reached a node with internet access
• Hugging Face targeted – inferred HF might host ExploitGym models, datasets, or solutions
• HF initial access – a malicious dataset abused two code-execution paths to run code on a processing worker
• HF internal movement – escalated to node access, stole cloud and cluster credentials, and moved into internal clusters
• result – OpenAI says the models obtained test solutions directly from HF’s production database
• 🫠 defender twist – HF says commercial frontier models blocked parts of the forensic analysis, so it switched to self-hosted GLM 5.2
i’d thought about sci-fi scenarios like this before, but assumed they were at least a couple of years away.. and that by then we’d be better prepared, with proper protections in place.
apparently not. here we go.
Claude Code on desktop now works with the iOS simulator.
Build and run your iOS app, and the simulator opens in a panel right next to your conversation. Available today in public beta.
we had a significant security incident during evaluation of our models. we are sharing what we have learned so far. thanks to @huggingface for the partnership on this.

Introducing Unity 7 - built for a faster-moving, more open industry where creators, cross-functional teams, and coding agents can seamlessly collaborate across every stage of the development cycle. Featuring:
- Create faster: Modernized CoreCLR foundation with a near-instant Play Mode and up to 90% faster shader builds.
- Collaborate in better ways: New CLI, public API, and free MCP connect teams and coding agents directly to Unity.
- Ship sharper graphics: Richer, realistic lighting via Surface Cache GI across all Unity supported devices.
- Grow and monetize smarter: Built-in Unity Vector tools, native webshops, and direct-to-consumer IAP to scale efficiently.
- No breaking changes: A direct continuation of Unity 6 architecture, offering an upgrade path with zero rebuilding.
Unity 7 will enter early Beta testing in December, with the Full Release scheduled for Q1 2027.
Last year we announced a partnership with Epic Games to bring Unity to Fortnite - and today, we want to show you where we are.
This is Fantasy Kingdom: a Unity game rendering natively inside @UnrealEngine. Physics, lighting, input: all synchronized between engines🎮👇

We’re opening the Editor to EVERYONE 🤝
For 20 years, the Unity Editor is where a whole generation of games has taken shape. But a game isn’t built in the Editor alone.
That’s why we’re building an API and set of services that open a Unity production to the tools, roles, and agents around it - no full Editor access required. Preview the real game, automate from the terminal, and use whatever tool fits the job.
Now available in closed beta.

John Carmack on the importance hard work: “For decades, I worked 60 hours a week”
“I was never one of the programmers who would do all-nighters or work for 20 hours straight,” programming legend John Carmack begins when asked about his work routine. “My brain generally starts turning to mush after 12 hours or so. But hard work is really important, and for decades I would work 60 hours a week. I would work 10 hours a day, 6 days a week.”
He continues:
“I had a little thing in the back of my head where I was almost jealous of some of the programmers who would do these marathon sessions. Like Dave Taylor, one of the guys we had at id Software, would be one of those people who would fall asleep under his desk sometimes and all the classic hacker tropes about these things. Part of me was always a little bothered that wasn’t me. I wouldn’t program 20 hours straight because I’m falling apart and not being very effective after 12 hours . . . There are people who can work on 4 hours of sleep and continue to do good work, but there’s a lot of people who just fall apart. I always try to get 8 hours of sleep . . . you can work 100 hours a week and still get 8 hours of sleep if you prioritize things correctly. But I do believe in working hard.”
John disagrees with the backlash against hard work and voices support for game developer’s comment that “40 hours a week is kind of a part-time job.”
“If you’re doing what you think is important work that you’re passionate about, working more gets more done. It’s really not possible to argue with that if you’ve been around the people who work with that level of intensity.”
He believes people who argue that you’re less productive if you work more than 40 hours a week are misinterpreting things:
“Your marginal productivity for an hour after eight hours is less than one of your peak hours, but you’re not literally getting less done. There’s a point where you start breaking things and literally going backwards, but it’s not 8-12 hours.”
John illustrates this point with a fictional example:
“Imagine there’s an asteroid that’s going to crash into Earth and destroy all human life. Do you want Elon Musk and the people working at SpaceX building the interceptor that’s going to deflect the asteroid clocking out at 5pm because they’re going to do worse work if they work another couple hours? It seems absurd . . . It’s the truth: working longer gets more done.”

hello there the jacobian conjecture is false thanx to my close friend akhil for asking about it and my other close friend fable for working during the world cup final
((1+xy)^3 z + y^2 (1+xy) (4+3xy), y + 3 x (1+xy)^2 z + 3 x y^2 (4+3xy), 2 x - 3 x^2 y - x^3 z): \C^3\to \C^3, has jacobian determinant -2, and sends (0, 0, -1/4), (1, -3/2, 13/2), and (-1, 3/2, 13/2) to (-1/4, 0, 0)
